Wow. The pitching is bad tonight, folks. Like, real bad. If you’re not playing the full day slate so you can squeeze in one of the very top options, then you’re seriously rolling the dice here. Yeah, it’s that bad tonight. Here’s a look:

Madison Bumgarner, SF – The best play of the day, but you have to get those lineups in early if you want to use him. The Braves suck against lefties, they suck against righties, they suck at home and they suck on the road. The sucks over the last seven days and they have sucked over the first two months of the season. For lack of a better way to say it, they suck. If you can avoid Murphy’s Law, you’re in good shape.

Zack Greinke, ARI – There’s some risk here as the Astros’ bats seem to be heating up, so what you’re hoping for here is that the 25-percent strikeout rate of the Astros rears its ugly head. Their .313 wOBA versus righties isn’t great, so if Gfreinke is sharp, he should at least provide you with a quality start.

Kyle Hendricks, CHC – Minds were blown last time out when Hendricks actually pitched into the seventh inning. We’re hoping for an encore performance against a Dodgers team that seems offensively-challenged right now with their 25.3-percent K-rate and 26th-ranked .280 wOBA.

Juan Nicasio, PIT – If he can avoid mistakes against some of the left-handed bats in the Marlins lineup, Nicasio just might escape this outing with some semblance of fantasy dignity still intact. The Marlins offense, overall, has been struggling lately and has a .288 wOBA over the last seven days with a meager .105 ISO.

Matt Moore, TB – At least he threw a quality start his last time on the hill, but that’s about the biggest highlight we’ve seen in his last five starts. The command is rough, so you have to hope that the Twins continue to struggle against left-handed pitching as they have throughout the year. Their .279 wOBA versus southpaws ranks 28th in the league and they’re fanning nearly a quarter of the time.

Chase Anderson, MIL – Yeah, that right. Here’s your dart. Yuck. I know. He’s allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last four starts and faces a Phillies team whose .284 wOBA against righties ranks 28th in the league. Add in the .247 wOBA and 25.2-percent K-rate and maybe…just maybe…you’ve got Anderson as an option here.
