Uehara looked great in this contest, and has now forced five strikeouts over his last three appearances, which is 2.2 innings pitched in total. 15 PC-11 ST (6/15/13) (MR) Junichi Tazawa (R)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one hit on 13 pitches thrown. Smith will likely get the day off on Sunday, but considering he is likely not owned, even in holds leagues, he really has no fantasy relevance. 13 PC-9 ST (6/15/13) (MR) Bryan Shaw (R)--Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Saturday retiring all five batters he faced in order. Shaw has now been used for more than one inning in three straight appearances, as it appears the Indians are trying to stretch him out into more of along relief pitcher. 16 PC-12 ST (6/15/13) Injured--Chris Perez (Shoulder)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Jose Valverde (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing one walk while striking out one batter. Valverde has struggled as of late, but the Tigers are sticking with him in the closer role for the time being, but his owners may want to stash Joaquin Benoit to play it safe. 17 PC-9 ST (6/14/13) (SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Picked up his ninth hold of the season Friday after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. Benoit only threw nine pitches in the appearance, but has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the day off on Saturday. 9 PC-7 ST (6/14/13) (MR) Phil Coke (L)--Took the loss on Wednesday after allowing one run on two hits over one inning of relief. With this appearance Coke falls to 0-4 and has yet to show any consistency through out the first third of the season. 15 PC-11 ST (6/12/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Shaky Jose Veras (R)–Recorded his 13th save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one walk while striking out two batters. Holland once again dominated the final frame, forcing one fly ball out while striking out two batters, and has now logged five strikeouts over his last three innings of work. 11 PC-10 ST (6/12/13) (SU) Kelvin Herrera (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing two walks while striking out two batters. This was Herrera's first appearance since Tuesday, so expect him to be available for the remainder of this weekend's series with the Rays. 28 PC-14 ST (6/14/13) (MR) Aaron Crow (R)–Earned his 11th hold of the season Friday after retiring two batters in the seventh inning. This was Robertson's first appearance since last Sunday, so expect to see more of him over the next few days. 22 PC-14 ST (6/13/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Thursday retiring both batters he faced in order. Logan has now pitched back-to-back days, but has limited his pitch counts, so he should be available to pitch on Friday if needed. 15 PC-9 ST (6/13/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Solid Grant Balfour (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. With Grant Balfour unavailable Friday, Cook could get a chance to be used in the closer role, so those looking to take a flier for tonight should consider him. 14 PC-9 ST (6/13/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation allowing two hits while striking out one batter on 24 pitches thrown. After a shaky few weeks, Doolittle appears to have turned things around and should once again be trusted in holds leagues. 24 PC-15 ST (6/14/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Committee Oliver Perez (L)--Recorded his first save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit on 17 pitches thrown. With Tom Wilhelmsen removed from closer duties, Perez and Carter Capps will spit the ninth inning, but it is not expected to be for an extended period of time. 17 PC-11 ST (6/14/13) (CL) Committee Carter Capps (R)–Earned his sixth hold of the season Monday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Capps has now pitched just twice since last Wednesday, so expect to see much more of him in the upcoming days. 11 PC-7 ST (6/10/13) (SU)  Tom Wilhelmsen (R)--Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save after allowing five runs on three hits and two walks. Wilhelmsen is starting to fall apart at the seems, but there is no logical replacement for him in the Mariners bullpen, so his job is safe for now. 18 PC-7 ST (6/12/13) Injured–Stephen Pryor (back)Tampa Bay Rays(CL) Shaky Fernando Rodney (R)–Recorded his 14th save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 20 pitches thrown. Rodney has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a good chance he will be given the day off on Sunday considering his pitch counts. 20 PC-12 ST (6/15/13) (SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Picked up his 17th hold of the season Saturday despite allowing one run on two hits in the eighth inning. Peralta allowed a home run to Salvador Perez to bring the Royals within two runs, but was able to work around it to get through the appearance with limited damage. 17 PC-15 ST (6/15/13)(MR) Jake McGee (L)–Earned his 11th hold of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. With this appearance Bastardo falls to 2-2 on the season with a 3.18 ERA, which is respectable, but the Phillies bullpen has had many issues thus far in 2013. 7 PC-7 ST (6/12/13)Pittsburgh Pirates(CL) Elite Jason Grilli (R)–Collected his 24th save of the season on Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing two hits on 21 pitches thrown. Melancon has now pitched back-to-back days, but threw only five pitches on Saturday, so he should be available if needed on Sunday. 5 PC-4 ST (6/15/13) (MR) Tony Watson (L)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Saturday in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order on just seven pitches thrown. He was initially in the game for a save opportunity, but after allowing the run the Padres elected to take him out for a better matchup. 10 PC-8 ST (6/12/13)(MR) Dale Thayer (R)–Collected his 14th hold of the season on Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing two hits on 23 pitches thrown. Thayer forced one fly ball out while striking out two batters to keep the game out of reach for the hot-hitting Diamondbacks. 23 PC-15 ST (6/15/13)San Francisco Giants(CL) Elite Sergio Romo (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his third blown-save Saturday after surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning.
