Reed looked sharp in this contest, so hopefully the time off from the All Star break will get him moving back in the right direction. 17 PC-12 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Matt Lindstrom (R)--Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Saturday allowing one walk on 14 pitches thrown. Pestano needed 15 pitches to work through the appearance in what was a great appearance coming off the All Star break. 12 PC-9 ST (7/20/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Solid Joaquin Benoit (R)–Recorded the final two outs of the ninth inning on Sunday striking out the only two batters he faced on 17 pitches thrown. Benoit has pitched well since taking over the closer role and appears to have a strong hold on the position heading into the second half. 17 PC-11 ST (7/14/13) (SU) Bruce Rondon (R)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Friday night retiring all four batters he faced in order. Rondon has pitched well since being promoted from Triple-A, so expect him to stay around for a while. 15 PC-11 ST (7/19/13) (MR) Al Alburquerque (R)--Was used in the ninth inning on Saturday night in a non-save situation allowing three runs on two hits and one walk. Alburquerque has not been pitching well as of late having surrendered six runs over his last three appearances, so hopefully he can turn things around int he second half so he cam remain in the Tigers bullpen. 22 PC-15 ST (7/13/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Solid Jose Veras (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Saturday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Veras needed only 14 pitches to work through the frame forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out while striking out one batter. 14 PC-9 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Hector Ambriz (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Monday surrendering three runs on four hits and two walks. Ambriz threw 36 pitches in the appearance, so there is a good chance he will be unavailable for Tuesday's contest. 36 PC-19 ST (7/1/13) (MR) Wesley Wright (L)–Took the loss on Wednesday night after allowing one run on one hit in the seventh inning. After a few rough weeks, Burton has turned things around and has now put together three straight scoreless relief appearances. 11 PC-7 ST (7/14/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Recorded his 31st save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 16 pitches thrown. Rivera has not been striking out many batters this season, so it was nice to see him record two strikeouts for his fantasy owners. 16 PC-11 ST (7/20/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Earned his 23rd hold of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit on only seven pitches thrown. Robertson worked quickly in this one, forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to get the job done. 7 PC-6 ST (7/20/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Friday night allowing one walk on 12 pitches thrown. Logan was used to get the final out of the seventh inning, and was able to do so without allowing any runs to score. 12 PC-6 ST (7/19/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Elite Grant Balfour (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation striking out the side on 15 pitches thrown. Balfour finishes the first half with 25 saves with a 1.63 ERA, which ranks him near the top of relievers in the American League. 15 PC-12 ST (7/14/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Picked u p the win on Sunday after pitching two scoreless innings of relief allowing one hit and two walks on 29 pitches thrown. Doolittle has been very inconsistent this season, but at least he is ending the first half on a high note. 17 PC-11 ST (7/14/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Shaky Tom Wilhelmsen (R)--Recorded his 21st save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one walk on 11 pitches thrown. Wilhelmsen bounced back from a poor outing on Friday, having now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be unavailable on Sunday. 11 PC-6 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Oliver Perez (L)--Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one walk while striking out three batters. Perez threw 30 pitches in the appearance, and has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect him to get the day off on Friday. 30 PC-20 ST (7/11/13) (MR)  Charlie Furbush (L)--Picked up his eighth hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Rodney has been pitching very well as of late, having now recorded six strikeouts over his last 3.0 innings of work. 21 PC-12 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Picked up his 26th hold of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk while striking out two batters on 19 pitches thrown. Peralta has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the day off on Sunday. 19 PC-10 ST (7/20/13) (MR) Jake McGee (L)--Pitched one inning of relief on Friday night allowing one run on one hit while striking out one batter on 19 pitches thrown. Scheppers bounced back nicely after a rough outing on Saturday, so hopefully this appearance will get him going back in the right direction. Walden allowed one hit while striking out one batter needing 19 pitches to work through the outing. 9 PC-6 ST (7/19/13) (MR) Luis Avilan (L)--Picked up his 15th hold of the season Friday night after forcing the only batter he faced to ground out on five pitches thrown. Soriano has now been used in both games since the All Star break, but should still be available Sunday considering he pitches three straight days often. 18 PC-13 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Drew Storen (R)--Was charged with a blown-save Saturday night after allowing one run on two hits in the seventh inning. Storen had been pitching well prior to this appearance, so hopefully he will get back on track next time out. 14 PC-12 ST (7/20/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Saturday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 23 pitches thrown.
