(MR)Â Â Craig Breslow (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday night allowing tow hits while striking out one batter on 13 pitches thrown. (SU) Matt Lindstrom (R)--Was used in both ends of Friday's doubleheader, earning his fifth hold of the season in Game 1 and being charged with a blown-save in the night cap. (MR) Marc Rzepczynski (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Thursday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. (CL) Committee Travis Blackley (L)--Failed to record an out in his appearance on Wednesday night after allowing one hit and one walk in the seventh inning. This was a terrible outing from Blackley, but he got lucky that his teammate Chia-Jen Lo got him off the hook. 12 PC-5 ST (8/7/13)
(MR) Wesley Wright (L)--Failed to record an out in his appearance on Friday night allowing one hit and one walk before being pulled. (SU) Santiago Casilla (R)--Recorded the final out of the 10th inning on Friday night needing only five pitches to force the only batter he faced to ground out. Casilla has pitched three days this week, but has been able to limit his pitch count, so expect to see him used more over the next few days. 5 PC-3 ST (8/9/13)
(MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Took the loss on Friday night after surrendering three runs on three hits and one walk in the 10th inning. Lopez falls to 1-2 following this appearance, but considering his track record, he should be able to bounce back next time out. 17 PC-10 ST (8/9/13)
Injured-- Jeremy AffeldtSt. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)âPitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Mujica hasn't been used in a save situation since late July, so hopefully the Cardinals can turn things around to help both their playoff chances and his fantasy owners. 10 PC-9 ST (8/9/13)
(SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Was used to record the first two outs of the eighth inning on Friday night allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 22 pitches thrown. Rosenthal got himself into a jam, but was able to escape unharmed after Seth Maness cleaned up his mess. 22 PC-11 ST (8/9/13)
(MR) Randy Choate (L)--Recorded the final out of the seventh inning on Friday night allowing one hit while striking out one batter on nine pitches thrown. Choate continues to be used as a specialists on most occasions, and has really fit in well with the Cardinals this season. 9 PC-6 ST (8/9/13)
Injuredâ Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Recorded his 28th save of the season Saturday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Soriano has now pitched back-to-back days, but considering his low pitch count, he will likely be available on Sunday. 12 PC-9 ST (8/3/13)
(SU) Tyler Clippard (R)âTook the loss on Monday after surrendering one run on two hits in the eighth inning. Clippard falls to 6-2 on the season following this appearance and he has now allowed runs in two of his last three appearances. 19 PC-14 ST (8/5/13)
(MR) Ryan Mattheus (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday night retiring all three batters he faced in order on only six pitches thrown.
