O'Day allow a two-run home run to Michael Brantley, which extended the Indians lead, and the Orioles were unable to muster up a comeback. 14 PC-9 ST (6/24/13) (MR) Brian Matusz (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday night allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 20 pitches thrown. Matusz has now pitched two of the last three days, so there is a good chance he will be given the night off on Thursday. 20 PC-10 ST (6/26/13)Boston Red Sox(CL) Shaky Koji Uehara (R)–Recorded his second save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. This was the first save chance for Uehara since being anointed the team's closer, and he failed to disappoint. 13 PC-10 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Andrew Bailey (R)--Picked up his fifth hold of the season Sunday despite allowing one run on two hits in the seventh inning. Bailey has pitched terrible over the last week of the season, and if his struggles continue, look for Junichi Tazawa to move past him on the Red Sox depth chart. 9 PC-6 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Junichi Tazawa (R)--Earned his 14th hold of the season Wednesday despite allowing one run on one hit in the eighth inning. Tazawa allow a solo-home run to Michael Cuddyer in the inning which dropped the Red Sox lead to two runs, but was able to battle back and escape the inning with little damage done. 8 PC-7 ST (6/26/13) Injured--Joel Hanrahan (Forearm)Chicago White Sox(CL) Solid Addison Reed (R)–Picked up the win despite being charged with his third blown-save of the season Tuesday after allowing one run (unearned) on one hit in the ninth inning. After LaTroy Hawkins allowed a walk-off single to Alexei Ramirez in the bottom half of the inning, the decision fell to Reed, who is now 3-0 after this blown-save performance. 17 PC-13 ST (6/25/13) (SU) Jesse Crain (R)–Took the loss on Sunday after allowing three runs (zero earned) on two hits and one walk in the eighth inning. This was Crain's first blown-save of the season, but none of the runs were charged to him, so he is still sitting on a 0.52 earned-run average for the year. 30 PC-19 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Matt Thornton (L)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Thornton needed 15 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 15 PC-10 ST (6/23/13)Cleveland Indians(CL) Shaky Vinny Pestano (R)--Recorded his fifth save of the season Wednesday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Chris Perez is going to be activated prior to Thursday's game, so Pestano will return to the setup role, where he has been much better than in his short stint as closer. 18 PC-10 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Joe Smith (R)--Picked up the win on Wednesday despite allowing two runs on three hits in the eighth inning. Smith got lucky in this one, after Jim Johnson blew the save in the bottom half of the inning, which led to his mark in the win column. 21 PC-13 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Bryan Shaw (R)--Picked up his fifth hold of the season Monday after retiring the final two batters of the seventh inning. Shaw bounced back nicely from a poor performance his last time out, so hopefully this will get him back on track. 6 PC-4 ST (6/24/13) Injured--Chris Perez (Shoulder)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Joaquin Benoit (R)–Picked up the win on Sunday despite allowing one run on two hits in 1.1 innings of relief. This was Benoit's first appearance in a week, so the mediocre outing could have something to do with his time off in between appearances. 23 PC-16 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Phil Coke (L)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation allowing one walk while striking out two batters. With Joaquin Benoit taking over the closer role, Coke will now be used in the eight inning, which should increase his chances of earning more holds. 17 PC-10 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Al Alburquerque (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Alburquerque looked great in this contest, striking out two batters and forcing one fly ball out on just 11 pitches thrown, showing why he has one of the best arms out of all the bullpens throughout baseball when he is on. 11 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Solid Jose Veras (R)–Recorded his 16th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 14 pitches thrown. Quietly, Veras has really picked up his production as of late, and has now earned seven saves out of his last 10 appearances.  14 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Hector Ambriz (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 14 pitches thrown. Ambriz has been one of the bright spots on the Astros this season, and has a chance of earning some saves in the second half of the season, if the team decides to trade Jose Veras. 14 PC-10 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Wesley Wright (L)–Picked up his seventh hold of the season Wednesday after striking out the only batter he faced to end the seventh inning. Wright threw only four pitches in the appearance, so expect him to be available, if needed, on Thursday. 4 PC-3 ST (6/26/13)Kansas City Royals(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation striking out the side on 11 pitches thrown. Holland has been one of the best closers in the American League for most of the season, and has now lowered his earned-run average to 1.86 through 29.0 innings pitched. 11 PC-9 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Aaron Crow (R)–Picked up the win on Wednesday after pitching a scoreless 10th inning allowing one hit and one walk on 16 pitches thrown. It wasn't the best of outings from Crow, but he was able to hold onto the lead and help the Royals escape with the victory. 16 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Tim Collins (L)--Took the loss on Tuesday night after allowing the game-winning home run to Jason Heyward in the seventh inning. With Kelvin Herrera out of the picture once again, Collins has a chance of gaingin some fantasy value in holds leagues, so be sure to keep an eye on him in the upcoming weeks. 20 PC-16 ST (6/25/13)Los Angeles Angels(CL) Solid Ernesto Frieri (R)–Earned his 18th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 19 pitches thrown. This was a nice bounce back performance from Frieri, who allowed three runs in his previous appearance, so hopefully this outing will help him trend back in the right direction. 19 PC-16 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Kevin Jepsen (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Wednesday allowing one run (unearned) on one hit while striking out two batters. Jepsen needed 15 pitches to work through the appearance, forcing one ground ball out while striking out two batters to keep the Angels lead at three runs. 15 PC-10 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Scott Downs (L)–Earned his 15th hold of the season Wednesday after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Downs needed 13 pitches to work through the sixth and seventh innings, forcing three ground ball outs and one fly ball out to get the job done. 13 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) Injured:  Ryan Madson (Elbow), Sean Burnett (Elbow)Minnesota Twins(CL) Solid Glen Perkins (L)–Recorded his 19th save of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing two hits on 13 pitches thrown. Perkins has now recorded nine saves in his last 10 appearances, which has raised his fantasy stock considerably over the last three weeks. 13 PC-8 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Jared Burton (R)–Picked up his 14th hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 20 pitches thrown. Burton hasn't been pitching that well over his last few appearances, so hopefully this outing will get him moving in the right direction. 20 PC-11 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Fien needed only 12 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 12 PC-9 ST (6/26/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Picked up the win on Tuesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Rivera entered the game with a tied score, and after Tanner Scheppers' allowed a walk-off home run, Rivera ended up with the win. 11 PC-10 ST (6/25/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday in a non-save situation allowing one hit and one walk on 16 pitches thrown. Robertson got himself into a jam, but was able to force two ground ball outs to keep the game deadlocked at three runs a piece. 16 PC-9 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Wednesday retiring both batters he faced via strikeouts. Logan threw only nine pitches in the appearance, so he should be available Thursday despite pitching consecutive days. 9 PC-8 ST (6/26/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Solid Grant Balfour (R)–Took the loss on Sunday after surrendering three runs on two hits in the 10th inning. Balfour entered the game in a non-save situation, which seems to be the downfall for many closers this season, and allowed a home run to Kendrys Morales to end the game. 13 PC-8 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Cook only needed 11 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to keep the Athletics on top. 11 PC-9 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night allowing two hits while striking out one batter on 12 pitches thrown. Doolittle got himself into ajam, but was able to forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to secure the lead heading into the ninth inning. 12 PC-9 ST (6/25/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Committee Oliver Perez (L)--Picked up the win on Sunday after pitching two innings on scoreless relief allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two batters on 29 pitches thrown. Perez continues to pitch well out of the bullpen for the Mariners, and is now sitting on a 0.98 earned-run average on the season. 29 PC-20 ST (6/23/13) (CL) Committee Carter Capps (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing two run son three hits while striking out four batter on 30 pitches thrown. Capps continues to struggle with his command and will now likely get the day off Wednesday after recording a high pitch count in this contest. 30 PC-20 ST (6/25/13) (SU)  Tom Wilhelmsen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief on Wednesday retiring both batters he faced in order. Wilhelmsen needed only eight pitches to work through the frame, forcing two fly ball outs to make it through his second straight scoreless relief appearance. 8 PC-5 ST (6/26/13) Injured–Stephen Pryor (back)Tampa Bay Rays(CL) Shaky Fernando Rodney (R)–Collected his 16th save Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 20 pitches thrown. Rodney has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the night off on Tuesday. 20 PC-13 ST (6/24/13) (SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Earned his 19th hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Peralta made it through the inning with ease, forcing three fly ball outs on 11 pitches thrown to get the job done. 11 PC-7 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Jake McGee (L)–Picked up his 14th hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless seventh inning allowing one walk on 20  pitches thrown. McGee has really started to shine after a disastrous start to the season, and may become a solid player to own in holds leagues if he continues to perform at this level. 20 PC-12 ST (6/25/13)Texas Rangers(CL) Elite Joe Nathan (R)–Earned his 26th save of the season Wednesday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning needing only nine pitches to get the job done. Nathan retired the side in order, forcing two fly ball outs while striking out one batter to earn his fifth save in seven days. 9 PC-6 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Tanner Scheppers (R)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Scheppers bounce back nicely from a poor outing on Tuesday, which was nice to see from a young up-in-coming pitcher. 8 PC-4 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Jason Frasor (R)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Thursday allowing a walk to the only batter he faced in the sixth inning. Frasor has now pitched back-to-back days, but considering his low pitch count, he should be able to pitch Friday if the team need his services. 7 PC-3 ST (6/20/13) Injured– Joakim Soria (Elbow)Toronto Blue Jays(CL) Solid Casey Janssen (R)–Collected his 17th save of the season on Saturday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out two batters on 13 pitches thrown. Janssen has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect to see either Steve Delabar or Brett Cecil used in the closer role on Sunday. 13 PC-18 ST (6/22/13) (SU) Steve Delabar (R)–Was used to record the final out of the seventh inning on Tuesday night allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 12 pitches thrown. Delabar has been a pleasant surprise for the Blue Jays this season, and has the making of being a dominant closer some day, if he ever gets the chance. 12 PC-6 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Brett Cecil (L)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one run on two hits needing 19 pitches to record the first two outs of the seventh inning. With the recent struggles on Heath Bell, there is a good chance Hernandez could be next in line to take over the ninth inning if his struggles continue. 19 PC-13 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Tony Sipp (L)--Recorded the final out of the seventh inning on Tuesday needing six pitches to force a fly ball out to get the job done. Sipp has been used sparingly over the last few weeks, so expect him to get more work in the upcoming days. 6 PC-3 ST (6/25/13) Injured: J.J. Kimbrel got himself into a jam, but was able to force one fly ball out and strikeout two batters to walk away unharmed and with a Braves victory. 23 PC-12 ST (6/25/13) (SU) Luis Avilan (L)--Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Wednesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Avilan needed only 20 pitches to work between the seventh and eight innings, forcing one ground ball out and three fly ball outs while striking out one batter to keep the Braves in the game. 20 PC-12 ST (6/26/13) (MR)  Jordan Walden (R)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Wednesday allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Gregg has been slipping as of late, having allowed earned-runs in back-to-back games for the first time this season, but has yet to blow a save in 12 attempts. 15 PC-10 ST (6/26/13) (SU) James Russell (L)--Picked up his 10th hold of the season Wednesday night after pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Russell needed only 10 pitches to work through the frame, forcing three ground ball outs to secure the Cubs lead heading into the eighth inning. 10 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Shawn Camp (R)--Pitched two innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one run on three hits needing 26 pitches to work through the appearance. With Carlos Marmol out of the picture, Camp will now had a more prominent role in the Cubs bullpen, so be sure to keep him on your radars in holds leagues. 26 PC-21 ST (6/25/13) Injured--Kyuji Fujikawa (Forearm)Cincinnati Reds(CL) Elite Aroldis Chapman (L)–Recorded his 19th save of the season Sunday despite allowing one run on two hits in the ninth inning. This was Chapman's second straight poor outing, but at least this one didn't turn into a loss for the Reds. 24 PC-15 ST (6/23/13) (SU) J.J. Hoover (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Hoover struck out one batter while forcing two fly ball outs to work through the appearance, which was one of only a handful of perfect innings he ahs had all season. 17 PC-10 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Tony Cingrani (L)--Pitched one inning of relief on Wednesday allowing one run on two hits while striking out two batters on 24 pitches thrown. This was the first run allowed by Cingrani since being moved to the bullpen, but on a positive note, he has now struck out six batters in his last 2.2 innings of relief. 24 PC-15 ST (6/26/13) Injured--Sean Marshall  (Shoulder), Jonathan Broxton (Elbow)Colorado Rockies(CL) Shaky Rex Brothers (L)–Recorded his fourth save of the season Sunday after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. With Rafael Betancourt set to return any day now, Brothers' fantasy stock will soon drop significantly, making him only worth owning in holds leagues. 14 PC-10 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Matt Belisle (R)--Was used in the eighth inning on Sunday surrendering four runs on three hits and one walk, failing to make it through the inning. Belisle has now allowed six runs over his last three appearances, and is in serious jeopardy of moving down the depth chart, especially with the arrival of Rafael Betancourt later this week. 21 PC-14 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Wilton Lopez (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Wednesday allowing one hit and one walk on 29 pitches thrown. Belisario may start to see an uptick in the situations he is used in with the recent struggles of Brandon League, which could mean more hold situations. 10 PC-6 ST (6/25/13)Miami Marlins(CL) Solid Steve Cishek (R)–Recorded his 14th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Cishek has been on fire as of late, having converted all of his last eight save chances, but has now pitched back-to-back days, so he could get a day off on Thursday. 19 PC-11 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Mike Dunn (L)--Picked up his 11th hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Henderson has looked mediocre at best since returning from the disabled list, so expect to see Francisco Rodriguez get some save chances while he continues to get back in shape. 23 PC-15 ST (6/23/13) (CL) Committee Francisco Rodriguez (R)--Recorded his sixth save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 13 pitches thrown. This save took Rodriguez to the 300-mark on the season, but now we should see Jim Henderson getting most of the saves now that he has past his milestone. 13 PC-11 ST (6/22/13) (MR) John Axford (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on only seven pitches thrown. Axford has been pitching very well over the last month of the season, and has now lowered his earned-run average to 4.09, which is great compared to where he was just one month ago. 7 PC-4 ST (6/26/13)New York Mets(CL) Solid Bobby Parnell (R)–Recorded his 13th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Parnell has now recorded a save in each of his last four appearances, allowing just one hit and zero runs over that time frame. 15 PC-10 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Brandon Lyon (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Sunday allowing two hits while striking out two batters on 22 pitches thrown. Lyon was in charge of shutting down the final two innings of game, which the Mets had a commanding lead, and was able to do so with ease. 22 PC-15 ST (6/23/13) (MR) LaTroy Hawkins (R)--Took the loss on Tuesday after allowing one run (unearned) on two hits in the ninth inning. Adams is enduring arguably his worst season in the big leagues, but outings like this show that he could be trending back in the right direction. 12 PC-8 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Antonio Bastardo (L)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation allowing two hits while striking out two batters on 30 pitches thrown. Considering his high pitch count, he will likely get the day off on Wednesday so plan accordingly. 30 PC-21 ST (6/25/13)Pittsburgh Pirates(CL) Elite Jason Grilli (R)–Was used in a non-save situation on Sunday surrendering three runs on five hits in the 10th innings. Grilli has not pitched well in two of his last three appearances, but that is to be expected at least once by every pitcher each year. 28 PC-22 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Mark Melancon (R)--Earned his second save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing two hits while striking out one batter. The Pirates wanted to give Jason Grilli an extra day off, electing to turn to Melancon in the ninth inning, which turned out just the same as if Grilli was in the nail down the ninth inning. 17 PC-12 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Tony Watson (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Once again, ,Watson got the job done for the Pirates, forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out on 13 pitches thrown. 13 PC-8 ST (6/25/13)San Diego Padres(CL) Solid Huston Street (R)--Pitched a scoreless 12th inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. This was Street's first appearance since last Sunday, so expect to see a lot more of him in this weekend's series with the Marlins. 11 PC-7 ST (6/26/13)(SU) Luke Gregerson (R)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Wednesday night allowing one run on one hit in the eighth inning. Gregerson gave up the tying run in the appearance, after serving up a two-run home run to Delmon Young, which eventually forced extra innings. 5 PC-4 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Dale Thayer (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday  night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Thayer have now pitched back-to-back days, but with a scheduled day off on Thursday, he should be ready to go for this weekend's series with the Marlins. 11 PC-6 ST (6/26/13)San Francisco Giants(CL) Elite Sergio Romo (R)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Saturday in a non-save situation allowing one hit while striking out three batters on 20 pitches thrown. Romo has been striking out a lot of batters over his last few appearances, raising his total to six strikeouts in his last 3.2 innings of work. 20 PC-15 ST (6/22/13) (SU) Jeremy Affeldt (L)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Saturday allowing one hit on only nine pitches thrown. Affeldt had allowed three runs in his previous two games, so it was nice to see him bounce back in this contest. 9 PC-5 ST (6/22/13) (MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Recorded the final out of the seventh inning in his appearance on Wednesday night needing only one pitch to get the job done. Lopez has now been used four of the last six days, but should be available Thursday considering his low pitch counts over those contests. 1 PC-1 ST (6/26/13) Injured--Santiago Casilla (Knee)St. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)–Was used in a non-save situation on Tuesday night allowing two hits and one walk in 0.2 innings of relief. Mujica was quickly removed from the contest after clearly not having his best stuff, but as we know, some pitcher are just better in save situations. 18 PC-11 ST (6/25/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Sunday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 17 pitches thrown. Rosenthal was used to get the final out of the seventh inning, and was able to do so, just not in a ordering fashion. 17 PC-11 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Sunday retiring all four batters he faced in order. Choate struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing two ground ball outs to get the job done. 15 PC-11 ST (6/23/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Collected his 21st save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 16 pitches thrown. Soriano is getting the job done, but hasn't look like himself as of late, having allowed five base runners over his last two appearances without a strikeout. 16 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Drew Storen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Tuesday allowing one run (unearned) on one hit and one walk. Storen recorded the final two outs of the seventh frame forcing one ground ball out while striking out one batter to escape the threat without much damage. 23 PC-13 ST (6/25/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Picked up his 12th hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a 1-2-3 eighth inning needing 17 pitches to work through the frame.
