(CL) Committee Chia-Jen Lo (R)--Earned his first save of the season Tuesday night after recording the final four outs of the contest on 23 pitches thrown. (SU) Santiago Casilla (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Tuesday allowing one run on two hits and one walk in the eighth inning. Casilla has now allowed earned-runs in back-to-back appearances, so hopefully next time out he will be able to get back on track to end the season on a high note. 17 PC-9 ST (8/13/13)
(MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Recorded the final out of the eighth inning on Tuesday night forcing the only batter he faced to ground out on eighth pitches thrown. Injured-- Jeremy AffeldtSt. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)âPitched two innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one hit on only 17 pitches thrown. Mujica continues to get the job done late in games for the Cardinals, as he forced six ground ball outs in the appearance, which is starting to become what we expect. 17 PC-13 ST (8/13/13)
(SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night allowing one hit while striking out three batters on 22 pitches thrown. Rosenthal hasn't been pitching well as of late, so it was nice to see an outing like this from the Cardinals youngster. 22 PC-13 ST (8/13/13)
(MR) Randy Choate (L)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation striking out the side on 13 pitches thrown. Choate has been pitching very well as of late, but has limited fantasy upside considering most of his appearances are facing only a batter or two at most. 13 PC-9 ST (8/14/13)
Injuredâ Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Recorded his 31st save of the season Wednesday night despite allowing one run on three hits in the ninth inning. This was a bad outing from Soriano, but at least the Nationals had a big lead before turning over the game to the bullpen. 18 PC-15 ST (8/14/13)
(SU) Tyler Clippard (R)--Earned his 23rd hold of the season after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. Clippard struck out both batters he faced in the appearance, needing only 11 pitches to get through the appearance, which was his second in as many days. 11 PC-6 ST (8/14/13)
(MR) Ryan Mattheus (R)--Failed to record an out in his appearance on Wednesday after surrendering two runs on three hits in the eighth inning.
