With this appearance Smith fell to 4-1 on the season in what was definitely not the way he wanted to start the second half. 24 PC-15 ST (7/19/13) (MR) Vinny Pestano (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit and two walks on 29 pitches thrown. It wasn't the best of outings, but Pestano was able to work through the appearance without allowing the Mariners to get back into the ballgame. 29 PC-16 ST (7/24/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Solid Joaquin Benoit (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Wednesday night in a non-save situation retiring both batters he faced in order. Robertson needed 15 pitches to work through the frame forcing two fly ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 15 PC-9 ST (7/25/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Tuesday allowing one run on two hits in the sixth inning. Logan faced only two batters in the appearance both of which hit him hard, so the team decided to get him out before the situation got worse. 7 PC-4 ST (7/23/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Elite Grant Balfour (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his first blown-save of the season Tuesday after allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk.
