The run allowed by O'Day was his first since May 22, which brings his season total to six runs allowed through 32.2 innings of relief. 23 PC-18 ST (6/18/13) (MR) Brian Matusz (L)--Earned his 11th hold of the season on Tuesday night after forcing the only batter he faced to fly out on just one pitch thrown. Matusz has been very erratic thus far in 2013, but if he can continue to rack up holds, he will carry some value in deep hold leagues. 1 PC-1 ST (6/18/13)Boston Red Sox(CL) Shaky Andrew Bailey (R)--Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save Thursday after surrendering a game-winning home run to Jhonny Peralta in the bottom of the ninth inning. Bailey has been terrible over his last four outings, having allowed seven runs, and if he doesn't clean up his act he may lose the closer role for the Red Sox. 9 PC-4 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Koji Uehara (R)–Picked up his 13th hold of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. After going through a rough stretch a few weeks back, Uehara has gotten right back on track, and may be considered for the closer job if Andrew Bailey continues to struggle. 10 PC-9 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Junichi Tazawa (R)--Earned his 11th hold of the season in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader after pitching a 1-2-3 sixth inning. Tazawa needed only 12 pitches to get through the appearance forcing one fly ball out while striking out two batters to get the job done. 12 PC-8 ST (6/18/13) Injured--Joel Hanrahan (Forearm)Chicago White Sox(CL) Solid Addison Reed (R)–Recorded his 20th save of the season Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Reed forced one ground ball out and two fly ball outs to get through the appearance, earning his first save in almost two weeks. 15 PC-11 ST (6/17/13) (SU) Jesse Crain (R)–Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Thursday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 19 pitches thrown. With this appearance Crain has now lowered his earned-run average to 0.55 on the season, having not allowed a run since April 12. 19 PC-12 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Matt Thornton (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 24 pitches thrown. Thornton has now pitched three consecutive days, so expect him to get the day off on Wednesday. 24 PC-16 ST (6/18/13)Cleveland Indians(CL) Shaky Vinny Pestano (R)--Earned his second save of the season Tuesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing three hits and one walk while striking out one batter. Pestano allowed four base runners in the inning, but was able to force a double play which got him out of the jam, securing the Indians one-run victory. 22 PC-12 ST (6/18/13) (SU) Joe Smith (R)--Was used in a non-save situation on Wednesday allowing one run on two hits in the ninth inning. The Indians had a four run lead upon his entrance, so the run allowed did not change the outcome of the game, but Smith has now allowed runs in back-to-back appearances. 15 PC-9 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Bryan Shaw (R)--Earned his fourth hold of the season Wednesday after pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Shaw allowed one hit while forcing three ground ball outs and one fly ball out while striking out one batter to get the job done. 18 PC-14 ST (6/19/13) Injured--Chris Perez (Shoulder)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Jose Valverde (R)–Was used in  a non-save situation on Wednesday surrendering four runs on five hits in the ninth inning. The wheels have now completely fallen off Valverde, allowing at least one run in three of his last six appearances, which may lead to Joaquin Benoit being anointed the team's closer. 25 PC-18 ST (6/19/13) (SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Earned his fourth save of the season Sunday after pitching 1.1 innings of relief allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 17 pitches thrown. Despite Jose Valvede being available, Benoit was used in the save situation, but the team still considers Valverde their closer so don't look too much into this situation. 17 PC-11 ST (6/16/13) (MR) Phil Coke (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one run on one hit and two walks on 13 pitches thrown. Coke has  now allowed a run in two of his last three appearances, and will need to start turning things around if he wants to continue to be used in crucial roles. 13 PC-4 ST (6/20/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Shaky Jose Veras (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 16 pitches thrown. Veras entered a tied ballgame and was able to keep it that way by forcing three ground ball outs to get the job done. 16 PC-9 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Hector Ambriz (R)--Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching a scoreless 10th inning allowing one walk while striking out one batter on 19 pitches thrown. Ambriz has now pitched back-to-back days, so it is unlikely be will be available out of the Astros bullpen on Friday. 19 PC-11 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Wesley Wright (L)–Pitched one inning of relief on Thursday allowing one walk while striking out one batter on 18 pitches thrown. This was Wright's first appearance since last Saturday, so expect to see much more of him over the next few days. 18 PC-10 ST (6/20/13)Kansas City Royals(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)–Recorded his 15th save of the season Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 19 pitches thrown. Holland has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be unavailable on Tuesday, so plan accordingly. 19 PC-12 ST (6/17/13) (SU) Kelvin Herrera (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Wednesday allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out two batters. Herrera has now allowed four runs over his last two appearances, and if he continues down this path, he may find himself back in Triple-A. 21 PC-13 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Aaron Crow (R)–Picked up the win on Monday night after being used to record the final two outs of the eighth inning. Crow has now pitched three of the last four days, so there is a good chance he will be given the day off on Tuesday. .16 PC-12 ST (6/17/13)Los Angeles Angels(CL) Solid Ernesto Frieri (R)–Recorded his 17th save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Frieri has now pitched three straight days, so he will likely be unavailable for Firday's series opener with the Pirates. 8 PC-7 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Kevin Jepsen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one run on one hit in the eighth inning. With Ernesto Frieri likely unavailable Friday, look for Jepsen to fill in for him if  a save situation arises in the contests. 19 PC-11 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Scott Downs (L)–Picked up the win on Thursday after recording the final out of the eighth inning. Downs has now pitched three consecutive days, so expect him to be unavailable for Friday's games with the Pirates. 7 P-3 ST (6/20/13) Injured:  Ryan Madson (Elbow), Sean Burnett (Elbow)Minnesota Twins(CL) Solid Glen Perkins (L)–Recorded his 18th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out two batters on 11 pitches thrown. Perkins has now pitched back-to-back days, and will likely get the day off on Thursday, so expect to see Jared Burton used in the closer role if a save situation arises. 11 PC-9 ST (6/19/13) (SU) Jared Burton (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation allowing two hits and one walk on 23 pitches thrown. Burton was used in place of Glen Perkins, who was unavailable after pitching back-to-back days, but Burton will be back to the setup role on Friday. 23 PC-17 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Thursday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Fien needed 15 pitches to work through the appearance, forcing one ground ball out and two fly ball out to keep the Twins lead at four runs. 15 PC-9 ST (6/20/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Collected his 25th save of the season in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Rivera needed only 10 pitches to retire the frame, forcing one fly ball out while striking out two batters to get the job done. 10 PC-7 ST (6/19/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Picked up his 15th hold of the season in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. Robertson walked two batters in the appearance, but was able to escape unharmed after forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to keep the Yankees ahead. 14 PC-4 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Thursday allowing two runs on three hits in the appearance. This outing marked his first time to the mound in a week's time, so it should not come as much of a surprise that he struggled in this one. 20 PC-12 ST (6/20/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Solid Grant Balfour (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Balfour needed only 10 pitches to work through the appearance, forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out to seal the victory for the Athletics. 10 PC-8 ST (6/18/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Thursday allowing one run on one hit between the sixth and seventh innings. Cook was charged with his third blown-save in the appearance, which eventually ended up in a loss for the Athletics. 11 PC-7 ST (6/20/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Took the loss on Thursday afternoon after allowing one run on three hits in the seventh inning. Right when we thought Doolittle was turning things around he proves up wrong, so maybe he has yet to work out his kinks after all. 28 PC-19 ST (6/20/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Committee Oliver Perez (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Thursday striking out the only batter he faced to end the eighth inning. League forced two ground ball outs while forcing one fly ball out on 17 pitches to seal the victory for the Dodgers. 17 PC-9 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Ronald Belisario (R)–Failed to record an out in his appearance in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader allowing one run (unearned) on four pitches thrown. Belisario made a costly error in the appearance, which allowed the run across, then was quickly removed from the game. 4 PC-2 ST (6/19/13)Miami Marlins(CL) Shaky Steve Cishek (R)–Recorded his 11th save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters. After a rough start to the season, Cishek has really turned things around, solidifying himself as the team's closer for the foreseeable future. 15 PC-12 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Mike Dunn (L)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Wednesday allowing one run on one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Dunn has been allowing a lot of base runners lately, but this time he was hurt by the home run, which was just the second long ball the Marlins setup man has allowed this season. 11 PC-9 ST (6/19/13) (MR) A.J. Ramos (R)--Pitched two innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 34 pitches thrown. Considering Ramos' high pitch count, there is a good chance he will be given the day off on Wednesday, so look for Mike Dunn to be used in his role if that is truly the case. 34 PC-20 ST (6/18/13)Milwaukee Brewers(CL) Committee Jim Henderson (R)--Was charged with his second blown-save of the season Thursday after allowing one tun on one hit while striking out one batter on 17 pitches thrown. Henderson has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect him to get the day off on Friday. 17 PC-14 ST (6/20/13) (CL) Committee Francisco Rodriguez (R)--Recorded his fifth save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing two hits while striking out two batters. Rodriguez is now only one save away for 300 for his career, so it will be interesting to see what the Brewers do with the closer role after he reaches his milestone. 20 PC-15 ST (6/19/13) (MR) John Axford (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation allowing one hit while striking out one batter. Axford continues to pitch well, and it would not be too much of a surprise to see him used in the closer role in the near future. 13 PC-8 ST (6/20/13)New York Mets(CL) Solid Bobby Parnell (R)–Recorded his 11th save of the season Thursday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning needing 16 pitches to work through the frame. After a slow start to the season, Parnell earned saves in back-to-back appearances while picking up a win in his last 3.1 innings of relief. 16 PC-11 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Brandon Lyon (R)–Picked up his seventh hold of the season Thursday after pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Lyon allowed one hit and one walk in the appearance, but was able to hold off the Braves hitters keeping the lead in favor of the Mets. 23 PC-15 ST (6/20/13) (MR) LaTroy Hawkins (R)--Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching two innings of scoreless relief. Hawkins has now pitched two of the last three days, and considering his age, he will likely be unavailable to pitch on Friday. 29 PC-18 ST (6/20/13) Injured– Frank Francisco (Elbow)Philadelphia Phillies(CL) Elite Jonathan Papelbon (R)--Was charged with his second blown-save of the season Wednesday after allowing one run on two hits and one walk in the ninth inning. Papelbon has now pitched three consecutive days, but with a scheduled day off on Thursday, he should be available for the series opener with the Mets on Friday. 21 PC-13 ST (6/19/13) (SU) Mike Adams (R)--Pitched a scoreless 10th inning on Wednesday allowing one hit on 12 pitches thrown. Adams is enduring arguably his worst season in the big leagues, but outings like this show that he could be trending back in the right direction. 12 PC-8 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Antonio Bastardo (L)–Earned his ninth hold of the season Wednesday after recording the final out of the eighth inning. Bastardo needed only two pitches in the appearance to force the only batter he faced to fly out to get the job done. 2 PC-2 ST (6/19/13)Pittsburgh Pirates(CL) Elite Jason Grilli (R)–Was charged with his first blown-save of the season Wednesday after allowing a game-tying home run to Jay Bruce in the ninth inning. Not only was it Grilli's first blown-save, it was also the first home run he has allowed this season. 10 PC-7 ST (6/19/13) (SU) Mark Melancon (R)--Earned his 22nd hold of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit on 10 pitches thrown. Both Melancon and Jason Grilli have now pitched back-to-back days, so it will be interesting to see what the team does if a save situation arises on Thursday. 10 PC-7 ST (6/19/13) (MR) Tony Watson (L)--Earned his second save of the season Thursday after pitching two innings of scoreless relief. With both Mark Melancon and Jason Grilli unavailable, Watson was able to get the job done retiring all six batters he faced in order. 23 PC-15 ST (6/20/13)San Diego Padres(CL) Solid Huston Street (R)--Was used in a non-save situation on Thursday allowing one run on three hits in the ninth inning. It is uncartain why the Padres elected to use Street in this contest, considering it was a non-save situation and had last pitched on Monday, but he should he able to pitch the next few days. 20 PC-14 ST (6/20/13)(SU) Luke Gregerson (R)–Earned his 12th hold of the season Thursday after retiring the only batter he faced to end the eighth inning. Jordan Zimmermann handled the first eight innings of the contest, with Soriano sealing the victory in the final frame on 15 pitches thrown. 15 PC-11 ST (6/20/13) (SU) Drew Storen (R)--Picked up the win on Wednesday after pitching a scoreless 10th inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters. Storen has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the day off on Thursday. 18 PC-10 ST (6/19/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Wednesday allowing one walk while striking out one batter on 18 pitches thrown.
