Week 4 of the NFL season is upon us and so we will take a look at some of the players in the NFC for the coming weekend of tilts.Jared Allen has posted 6.5 sacks the last two times he has faced the Lions including at least three sacks in each outing.Jason Babin has a sack in his last two outings against the Giants. He's also racked up 10.5 sacks in his last eight games overall.Michael Bennett had two sacks last week and he also forced a fumble. He has five sacks in his last six games. Fellow Buc Gerald McCoy also had two sacks and forced a fumble last week.Michael Boley has intercepted a pass in each of the first three games of the season. He faces Michael Vick who has thrown six interceptions through three games.Drew Brees has thrown for a score in 46-straight games. If he tosses one this weekend he will tie Johnny Unitas' NFL record. The last four times he has started versus the Packers he's averaged 365 yards a game while he he thrown 11 scores against two interceptions.Chris Clemons had a career-high four sacks last week against the Packers. This week he faces a Rams team that he has recorded at least 0.5 sacks in each of their last four meetings (overall he has 6.5 sacks including three in the last matchup).Michael Crabtree has caught four or more passes in 10-straight games, and during that time he has hauled in a total of 60 balls.Victor Cruz went for a score and 100 yards in each of his meetings against the Eagles last year and in the two games he racked up 239 yards and three touchdowns. It was a long time ago, 2010, but Jay Cutler threw for 277 yards and three scores the last time he faced the Cowboys. However, Cutler has thrown for just five scores and seven interceptions over his last four regular season games.Fred Davis had seven receptions for 90 yards last week. This week he's facing off with the Bucs who have given up the third most points to the tight end position this season.Vernon Davis has scored a touchdown in 5-straight games, and he's scored eight times in those five games. The Jets have permitted only 116 yards to the tight end through three games but they have permitted two touchdowns.Cortland Finnegan has an interception in each of the three games that he has played for the Rams. He faces Russell Wilson who hasn't thrown an interception in either of his past two games.Pierre Garcon's role this weekend is totally up in the air given his health, but his owners have to hope he plays given that the last time he faced the Bucs he went for 146 yards and two scores. If he isn't able to step up, perhaps Santana Moss will do his thing. He's scored in each of his last two forays onto the field against the Bucs.Frank Gore has scored five times in his past seven games. He's also led the Niners to 7-straight wins when he is able to rack up 100 rushing yards.Greg Jennings has scored each of the last three times he has faced the Saints.Jimmy Graham, and no one seems to have noticed, has scored in each of his last six games for the Saints. His teammate, Lance Moore, has seven scores in his last eight games, and Devery Henderson has scored each of the last two times he has faced the Packers.Tim Jennings has an interception in each of his last four games for the Bears (he's picked off a total of five interceptions).Calvin Johnson has 37 catches for 641 yards and five touchdowns the last six times he's faced off with a divisional opponent.Marshawn Lynch has run for at least 85 yards in 11 of his last 12 games. He faces a Rams club that has allowed an average of 121 rushing yards a game and five rushing scores this season.Jeremy Maclin is always an injury risk, but in each of his last four contests he has either scored a touchdown or gone over 100 yards.Eli Manning threw for 254 four yards and four scores the last time he faced the Eagles. Over his last four games he's thrown for eight scores and an average of 339 yards a contest.Brandon Marshall has scored a touchdown each of his last two outings against the Cowboys. Even with his disappearing act in Week 2 Marshall is still on an early season pace for 85 receptions and 1,141 yards, and that would give him a 6th straight 80-1,000 season. Predictably, LeSean McCoy has had success against the Giants with 321 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the last three meetings. He's also scored in each of his last eight home games (10 rushing, one receiving).Cam Newton ran for his 16th TD last weekend, the most for a QB in his first two seasons in the league in the history of the game.Hakeem Nicks has caught 47 balls for 757 yards and six touchdowns over his last seven games. Start him with confidence, his foot issue should be resolved enough to let him be a solid contributor this weekend.Adrian Peterson has run for 892 yards in nine career matchups with the Lions including 5-straight with at least 100 yards. He's also scored eight times.Tony Romo has thrown for 703 yards the last two times he has faced the Bears. Chicago has been brutal on QBs this year as they are the stingiest defense in the league against the QB in terms of fantasy points allowed.Steve Smith had six grabs for 125 yards the last time he faced the Falcons and he has gone off for at least 125 yards in four games against the club.Michael Turner may no longer be the player he once was, but history says the matchup with the Panthers is one that he's always excelled in. Turner has rushed for an average of 104 yards a game, while scoring 11 times, in his last seven meetings with the Panthers.Roddy White has grabbed 39 balls for 573 yards and four scores in his past five games at home while Julio Jones had 104 yards and a touchdown in his only meeting with the Panthers. Meanwhile, Tony Gonzalez has scored in 3-straight games for the Falcons. Ryan Williams has run for only 105 yards on 31 carries this season, a terrible 3.4 YPC mark. However, he did have a nice effort last week going for 83 yards on 13 carries. He faces a Dolphins club this week that has been pretty stingy against the run this year allowing a mere 64.7 yards per game on the ground through three weeks at a mere 2.4 YPC clip.RANDOM START OF THE WEEK(That one player you would never consider starting but for some reason he might be worth a look if you're desperate.)Brandon Gibson, WR, RamsGibson has two scores in his last three games. Unfortunately he's only caught eight passes for 123 yards in three games this season. The Rams also face a Seahawks team that manhandled the Packers in Week 3, and one that is in the top quarter of the league in terms limiting fantasy points to the wide receiver. Hey, this section is for that random, out of the darkness add, so there you go (even if I'm not totally behind the selection and wouldn't be caught dead playing Gibson this week unless I owned Reggie Wayne, Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace who are all on bye's).Ray Flowers can be heard daily on Sirius/XM Radio on The Fantasy Drive on Sirius 210 and XM 87, Monday through Thursday at 7 PM EDT and Friday's at 9 PM EDT.
