MLB Best Bets for June 6

Minnesota Twins at Tampa Bay Rays

Picking on the Twins lately has been very lucrative for me lately so why not continue that trend as they take on the Rays tonight. Minnesota may be over .500 on the season but at home they are having serious issues going 13-15 overall. The offense is part of the reason as they average just 4.32 runs per game on the road which is the 10th lowest mark in the MLB. The other is the amount of times this team strikes out which is 10.54 times per game on average. They'll have to face Tampa Bay starter Zach Eflin tonight as well with his 3.3 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Eflin is also 7-1 on the season through 10 starts. Now Tampa Bay to win is a bit chalky at -170 but I am willing to pay that given the way the Rays are playing. If you fancy yourself a parlay though I do like the over on the Eflin strikeouts tonight too. The number sits at 5.5 and while it'll be close for him to top it, he has hit the over in 4 starts so the potential is there against a team that punches out as much as the Twins do.

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays Money Line (-170 on DraftKings)

Pick: Zach Eflin Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-120 on DraftKings)

Houston Astros at Toronto Blue Jays

These two AL contenders look set for a good one tonight as the Astros pummeled the Blue Jays in the opening game of the series 11-4. That was with Alek Manoah on the mound for the Blue Jays though so I believe this matchup will be a bit different as Kevin Gausman gets nod tonight. Gausman is enjoying a nice season thus far with a 2.76 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 100 strikeouts over 75 innings pitched. He will have to be great today too as the Blue Jays are scoring just 4.24 runs per game at home which is in the bottom third of the league. Overall the Blue Jays have gone under in 50% of their total games which doesn't give an edge but the pitching and their opponents pitcher should. Hunter Brown will start for the Astros and over his last 3 starts he has allowed 8 earned runs which isn't amazing but not terrible either. I see things slowing down a bit today after the fireworks of yesterday so give me the under in this one.

Pick: Houston Astros & Toronto Blue Jays Under 8 Runs (-110 on BetMGM)

Baltimore Orioles at Milwaukee Brewers

I've loved watching Baltimore play this season between the young stars budding and the veterans playing lights out, its been a fun ride so far. Tonight they take on the Brewers and they are underdogs on every sportsbook and it makes sense with them being on the road but the Birds have been awesome away from home with a record of 20-10 while scoring 5.52 runs per game, the 3rd highest average in the MLB for road teams. I also like that Kyle Gibson is getting the start with his 4-1 record on the road this season and just 11 walks over 42.1 innings pitched. Not walking the Brewers is important because without the freebies they struggle to score runs. Milwaukee averages 4.07 runs per game and that's the 5th lowest rate in the MLB at this time. Mix that with an inconsistent starter in Freddy Peralta I have to go with the O's as underdogs tonight.

Pick: Baltimore Orioles Money Line (+110 on DraftKings)
