We will do things a little bit different for this short (3-game) Friday Night DraftKings slate and provide you with some of our thoughts and build out a couple of example lineups with commentary.  There are some exciting and potentially high-scoring affairs out there tonight - especially in the first showdown between UCF and FAU.

To McKenzie or Not to McKenzie...that is the question.  If you McKenzie (Milton) at quarterback in your lineup, it will be difficult to double-up on quarterback in the super-flex.  Though, it can be done. This first lineup, we will build around the UCF all-everything signal-caller and see what we can build.

QB - McKenzie Milton (UCF) vs. FAU - $10,500

When you spend that kind of jack on one position, you’ll need to get creative.  Though, in this short slate, Milton and Penn State QB Trace McSorley are the obvious options.  Both can have massive games. Going with Milton as that game has a better chance of staying close and becoming a back-and-forth affair.

RB - Adrian Killins (UCF) vs. FAU - $6,600

RB - Ricky Slade (Penn St.) at Illinois - $3,500

Sticking with the Knights here and their potential to put up 55+ against the Owls.  Killins is the No.1 back, though he could easily be outperformed by one Otis Anderson and even have a touchdown vultured by Greg McCrae.  Decent price on him for the upside though. Then, with Slade, you get a high risk, high reward play in a game that we anticipate the Nittany Lions going up big and the true freshman will be given a chance late in the game to show why he’s a blue-chipper against a bad Illini defense.

WR - Harrison Bryant (FAU) vs. UCF - $4,000

WR - Jovon Durante (FAU) vs. UCF - $7,000

WR - Amon-Ra St. Brown (USC) vs. Washington State - $6,500

Going with a couple of Owls in the WR spots. Bryant is actually a tight end and while he has just nine catches thus far, he is a big part of their game plan. He is trending up with a five catch game last time out against Bethune-Cookman. Jovon Durante - the West Virginia transfer - is the clear No. 1 and is developing a nice rapport with Chris Robison.  His 23 catches for 298 yards and two scores leads this FAU corps. Solid price in a potential shootout. Throw in a true freshman with huge upside in USC’s Amon-Ra St. Brown, who leads the Trojans receivers with 18 catches for 304 yards and the only score this team has through the air. After getting his against UNLV in his first collegiate game, he was shut down against a very good Stanford team (the whole offense was) and then grabbed nine passes for 167 last week against Texas.

Flex - Tre Nixon (UCF) vs. FAU - $6,200

It’s anybody’s guess as to which of the Knights wide receivers will be the go-to for Milton in this one, but Nixon has as good of a chance as anybody.  He went 5-101-2 TD in the first game of the season against UConn and then was quiet with three for 53 against South Carolina State. We like the price for the upside.

Super-Flex - Juwan Johnson (Penn State) at Illinois - $5,400

So, we don’t have a TON left to spend, so I’m going with a high upside play. Sure, Johnson hasn’t put up big numbers this year to this point, but the talent is there and that’s what we are looking for.  The Senior had 54 catches for 701 last year and though he had just one touchdown - we are just looking for a few catches and 60+ yards from this price point.

As mentioned before, we always like to go quarterback in the S-Flex spot on DK.  To do this, it only makes a lot of sense to do so with a combination of either FAU QB Chris Robison and McSorley or Milton. Here is an example lineup with that foundation:

QB - Chris Robison - $8,100

RB - Mark Allen - $3,900 -- primary backup at Penn State - could get some run when it gets out of hand.

RB - James Williams - $6,300 -- PPR monster out of the backfield and the clear-cut No. 1 in a good offense.

WR - Dontaveon Martin - $6,000 - Top option for Gardner Minshew and Washington State. Though, USC is tough.

WR - Brandon Polk - $4,200 -- 6 catches for 119 and two scores isn’t a lot to write home about, but a solid price point.

WR - Dredrick Snelson - $6,400 -- like Nixon, could easily be the favorite for Milton and the UCF passing offense. That’s a good thing.

Flex - Stephen Carr - $4,500 -- I still think he’s the most talented in the Trojans backfield and the breakout is coming.

S-Flex - Trace McSorley - $10,300

FanDuel

You playing DFS CFB on FanDuel?  We’ve got you covered. This first one is straight from the mind of one Nick Dunning - so blame him if these don’t cash (the probably will though)...

QB - McKenzie Milton (UCF) - $10,200

RB - Stephen Carr (USC) - $7,600

RB - Miles Sanders (PSU) - $9,200

WR - Brandon Polk (PSU) - $7,200

WR - Willie Wright (FAU) - $8,900

S-Flex - Gardner Minshew II (Wash St) - $10,300

Here is another option…

QB - Chris Robison (FAU) - $9,800

RB - James Williams (Wash St.) - $10,100

RB - Mark Allen (PSU) - $6,700

WR - Jovon Duante (FAU) - $9,500

WR - Dredrick Snelson (UCF) - $8,400

WR - Louis Dorsey (Illinois) - $4,800 -- Tight end making first start. Should be targeted.

S-Flex - McKenzie Milton (UCF) - $10,200
