Top Tier

Bo Bichette, SS TOR

Bo knows lefties. As in he knows how to hit them. As in he MASHES against them. On the year, Bichette is hitting a cool .373 with a .442 wOBA to boot. Bichette also crushes opposing pitching at home, which is no surprise due to the park they’re playing in, as his OPS is 150 points higher than it is on the road. Ryan Yarbrough has allowed 13 homers this season, 12 coming against righties along with a .463 SLG%. This is a great spot for Bichette to deposit one.

Carlos Correa, SS HOU

We’ve always typically used Correa against left-handed pitching in the past but in 2021, he flipped a switch and has really hit righties well. He’s belted 13 HR against RHP and a .296 AVG and .401 wOBA compliments that too. Righties hit Cal Quantrill well, as they’re batting .286 with a .321 wOBA. Quantrill never misses righty bats either, striking out just 12.8% of the RHH he faces. Love Correa and the Astros in this spot.

Mid Tier

Avisail Garcia, OF MIL

I love Milwaukee’s offense right now and Garcia is a big factor as to why. He had four hits and five runs batted in on Saturday and it was his third game over his last four with AT LEAST three hits. He’s really locked in at the dish and now gets to face a lefty, which has been his specialty this season. Against southpaws, he’s hitting .288 with a .412 wOBA. It’s perfect correlation considering Tyler Anderson, PIT SP, allows RHH to hit .288 with a .364 wOBA. He’s hitting fourth for the Brew Crew today.

Joey Votto, 1B CIN

Where we attack Kyle Hendricks is with left-handed hitters. Lefties have given him fits all year allowing a .302 AVG, .920 OPS and .391 wOBA. On the flip side of things, Votto looks really good at the plate right now and is hitting right-handed pitching extremely well. He has a .294 AVG and a .401 wOBA against righties. He has a long, successful history against Hendricks too, going 11-for-30 with three homers. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention this game was taking place at Great American Smallpark.

Value Tier

Brian Goodwin, OF CWS

Goodwin has fit like a glove into the battered and bruised White Sox outfield down both Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert. In 17 games with the club, Goodwin’s posted a .941 OPS thanks to six doubles, one triple and three homers. He’s absolutely hammering right-handed pitching, too, batting .350 with a .506 wOBA. He’s hitting fourth for the White Sox on Sunday.

Trevor Larnach, OF MIN

Minnesota has really struggled offensively and injuries to some key players have hurt them this season, but that’s given opportunities to someone like Larnach and he’s made the most of them. Larnach has looked really good at the plate this season, hitting in the middle of the Twins lineup. He’s hit .276 with a .380 wOBA against right-handed pitching and gets a fantastic match-up against Brad Keller on Sunday. Keller has allowed four or more earned runs in each of his last five starts.
