League of Legends DFS Fantasy Breakdown
Game #1: BDS Esport v Astralis
Game Breakdown: I think Astralis had a really good game on Friday but couldn’t seal it against G2. Xerxe (jungler) had an absolute death-grip on the early game and against the league’s worst team, that should be more than enough to seal it away. I m finding my lineups to be full of Astralis players because I just think they just have a higher skill ceiling and no ceiling higher than Kobbe right now.
Favorite Picks: Kobbe (AST: $11,700/$7,800), Dajor (AST: $11,100/$7,400), Xerxe (AST: $7,200), Astralis ($5,200)
Value Picks: Nuclearint (BDS: $6,400), Agresivoo (BDS: $5,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: Astralis
Game #2: SK Gaming v MAD Lions
Game Breakdown: MAD Lions absolutely destroyed Vitality on Friday and has made many LEC fans begin to question if they are the truth for the Summer Split. Unf0rgiven and Armut have benefitted so much by having Nisqy as their mid-laner. Nisqy plays his lane with his teammates in mind. HE will absorb pressure when needed and transfer his leads to other lanes when needed as well. JNX (SK) does have some space to earn points here because he have seen throughout Armut’s past some really questionable performances against weaker teams but I am not giving SK a ton of space to win here.
Favorite Picks: Unf0rgiven (MAD: $12,000/$8,000), Nisqy (MAD: $11.700/$7,800), Kaiser (MAD: $6,400)
Value Picks: JNX (SK: $5,200)
Cann’s Match Pick: MAD Lions
Game #3: Vitality v Misfits
Game Breakdown: I don’t trust Vitality and I don’t think I ever will. Misfits have been playing better in summer with the biggest point of growth coming in the jungle. Shlatan has found ways to be impactful on champions other than Lee Sin, which has meant other teams need to come with new draft strategies. I think there is also an element of Misfits not throwing their entire strategy behind Vetheo (who now has somewhat lower numbers compared to Spring) but this has allowed other players to start filling that space. For VIT, you just cannot keep having the lack of consistency out of Alphari and Carzzy that you are getting. Both players left their last teams in a swirl of drama and controversy and it is looking like they may have been the problem all along.
Favorite Picks: Perkz (VIT: $7,200), Haru (VIT: $6,600)
Value Picks: Vetheo (MSF: $10,200/$6,800), Irrelevant (MSF: $5,00), Mersa (MSF: $4,600)
Cann’s Match Pick: Misfits
Game #4: Rogue v G2 Esports
Game Breakdown: G2 eeked out a win against Astralis on Friday but it didn’t look good. If BrokenBlade and Jankos have the terrible early game they had on Friday against Rogue, this could be a 24 minute game. I am serious when I say, Rogue do not mess around with early-game leads usually and against a team that they really don’t want to see in the playoffs, expect Rogue to be dialed in here. Larssen and Comp will need to have big performances to make sure Caps cannot pull out another magical performance.
Favorite Picks: Larssen (RGE: $11,400/$7,600), Comp (RGE: $7,200), Rogue (RGE: $4,800)
Value Picks: Caps (G2: $6,600), Jankos (G2: $6,000), BrokenBlade (G2: $5,800)
Cann’s Match Pick: Rogue
Game #5: Fnatic v Excel Esports
Game Breakdown: Fnatic may be broken and we may look back at this team and wonder why. I think the biggest flaw is that, much like Vitality, there are a lot of top tier players here but their playstyles don’t compliment each other. For example, for XL, they all are aiming for the late game. They leverage early game leads to build the foundation for late game, 5-v-5 team fights. FNC? I couldn’t tell you what they want to play. Players Like Hylissang and Humanoid want to fight right from the word go. Wunder is truly just filling the weak side role and Upset would prefer to keep to the 2v2 until he has gapped the opponent so much that team fights are easy. This is a really tough identity to balance and is why I think they struggle against XL today.
Favorite Picks: Humanoid (FNC: $10,500/$7,000), Upset (XL: $6,600)
Value Picks: Macaron (XL: $6,200), Patrik (XL: $9,900/$6,600), Mikyx (XL: $5,000)
Cann’s Match Pick: Excel Esports
