PrizePicks CFB DFS Top Picks Week 4

J.J. McCarthy OVER 23.5 Fantasy Score

There was a starting quarterback debate at Michigan this summer, but sophomore quarterback JJ McCarthy put an end to all that once the season began.  The 6-3, 196-pounder has been close to perfect throughout the first three weeks of the season completing an absurd 88.4% of his passes for 13.9 yards per attempt with four touchdowns, and zero turnovers which comes out to be like a 148.2 NFL QB rating. He has also carried the ball seven times for 73 yards and another score and is Prop Football Focus’s second-highest rated QB in the FBS. McCarthy has not seen a real high volume of pass attempts but that should all change as the Wolverines enter their Big Ten opener as 17-point favorites at home against Maryland. With a 40.75 team implied total and facing a pass defense that is allowing 273.7 passing yards per game McCarthy should smash the over on 23.5 fantasy points.

Chevan Cordeiro OVER 7.5 Rushing Yards

Western Michigan has struggled against every opponent that it has faced this season. I mean even Ball State scored 30 points on the Broncos. It is a run defense that is ranked 112th in the nation as it allows 193.7 yards per game on the ground at 5.01 yards per carry. The numbers may not show it, but the Hawaii transfer is a dual-threat quarterback, and he has been pretty solid on the ground through two games with almost 100 yards rushing before sack yardage is subtracted and ruin his overall numbers (23 yards on the season). He has run the ball an average of 13.5 times a game and ran two in for touchdowns twice plus will be facing a much worse defense than the Auburn squad that he was tasked with in Week 2. As long as his young offensive line can keep him protected this 7.5-yard prop should be a drop in the bucket for Cordeiro on Saturday.

Davis Brin OVER 270.5 Passing Yards

What an offense that Tulsa has brought to the party this year. Golden Hurricanes HC Rich Rodriguez has put together a dangerous pass-heavy offense that is one of the best in the nation so far this season. Quarterback Davis Brin is the leader of this group that is currently No. 1 in the nation in passing yards (1,239), touchdowns (12), and yard passing per game (413.0) with 82% of their yards through the air. Brin personally leads the nation in passing with 1,206 yards through three games and is tied for the lead with 11 TD passes and just 1 INT while averaging a nice fat 10.1 yards per pass. Brin and this offense will score against an Ole Miss defense that is not nearly as strong as their stats indicate after facing three weak teams to start the season (Troy, Central AR, and Georgia Tech).
