Tonight's Top Plays

Paolo Banchero (Duke) – OVER 3.5 Free Throws Made

When Virginia upset Duke earlier this month, Banchero only took nine shots and got to the free-throw line just twice. The possible No. 1 NBA Draft pick simply wasn’t aggressive enough offensively and it ultimately cost the Blue Devils in the end. In tonight’s rematch, expect Banchero to attack the rim and be more active on the offensive end. If that’s the case, then he should get to the charity stripe more often. Banchero has at least four made free throws in three of the last four games since that loss to Virginia - so at least he’s been more aggressive recently. He also has 13 made free throws in the last two games combined.

Dane Goodwin (Notre Dame) – OVER 21.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts

It’s no secret the best way to beat Syracuse’s 2-3 zone defense is via the three-pointer. So, who’s Notre Dame’s best perimeter shooter? That would be Dane Goodwin, who’s draining 45.8% from deep this season and has the stroke to do serious damage to the ‘Cuse zone tonight. Goodwin will also benefit from playing at home, where he’s shooting 52% from three.  The senior wing is more than just a three-point shooter, though. He’s an above-average rebounder for his size and can score in a variety of ways. Goodwin has gone over 21.5 PRA in four of the last five games and will be looking to bounce back after struggling on the road vs. Wake Forest’s tough defense on Saturday.

Kellan Grady (Kentucky) – OVER 12.5 Points

With TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler both sidelined on Saturday, Grady exploded for a season-high 25 points while going 7-for-9 from three-point range. We likely won’t see either Washington or Wheeler play tonight because Kentucky seems content to rest them until the postseason. If one or both sit, then Grady would step into a bigger offensive role for a second straight game. Don’t forget, this is a guy who was a stud for four years at Davidson and was a nightly threat to score 25-30 points. He’s no stranger to increased shot volume and usage. Tonight, Grady faces an LSU defense that allows a ton of points via the three-pointer - which plays right into Grady’s strengths as a 45% perimeter shooter this season. He’s also averaging 14.1 PPG over the past nine games and scored 13 points vs. LSU earlier this year.
