How’d you do yesterday with your DFS College Basketball lineup? Whether it was good, bad or somewhere in between - we’re getting back on the saddle tonight for an interesting DFS CBB slate on both sites.

DraftKings has a 10-game early slate tipping at 7 pm ET, and then a separate 6-game slate beginning at 9 pm ET. FanDuel, meanwhile, has one 12-game main slate with a combination of matchups from both of DK’s early and late slates.

For the purposes of this playbook, we’ll outline the top plays and games to target for all three slates overall tonight before suggesting example lineups for each individual slate.

If you have any questions or comments about CBB DFS strategy or college basketball in general, feel free to hit up my Twitter @dan_servodidio. Good luck!

Guards

Myles Powell - SHU ($9,200 DK / $8,500 FD) - If you’ve followed these playbooks lately, you may notice we like to target the top-tier Big East guards when paying up at the position. The conference has been notorious for playing fast and letting the dominant guards control the pace of the game for much of this season. Last night, it was Markus Howard who smashed value. Let’s go back to the Big East well tonight with Powell, who’s been outstanding in conference play this season and gets a favorable matchup vs. Georgetown. This game has one of the highest implied totals on tonight’s slates and Georgetown plays at a top-20 tempo with a defensive efficiency outside the top-100, allowing opposing guards to have big games against the Hoyas. Meanwhile, Powell is dominating usage for Seton Hall and is averaging 41+ DK points over the last three games with balanced production across every stat category. His DFS floor looks to be pretty high tonight in what should be a fast-paced game where Seton Hall will need to lean on its guard play with Hoyas’ big man Jessie Govan likely taking over the paint.

Breein Tyree - MISS ($7,500 DK / $8,000 FD) - Terence Davis may have the higher price tag on both sites, but it’s Tyree who’s been the best DFS play on Ole Miss lately. Tyree has scored at least 20 real points on 15+ shot attempts in five straight games - most recently, a 31-point effort vs. Georgia on Saturday. The junior doesn’t offer much upside in other stat categories, but three consecutive outings of 34+ DK points is certainly hard to ignore. Eventually Tyree’s hot streak will come to an end, but it probably won’t be tonight in a fast-paced matchup vs. Auburn with one of the highest implied totals on the slate. One note of caution: Tyree put up just five points on 1-of-10 shooting in this season’s previous meeting with Auburn over a month ago. Yet, he’s passing the eye test right now and just looks like a different type of scorer than he was back in early January with a large shot volume as insurance.

Braxton Beverly - NCST ($4,900 DK / $6,100 FD) - All season long, we’ve been targeting three-point shooters when they face Syracuse’s zone defense - and it continues tonight with one of NC State’s better deep threats. Beverly, along with Markell Johnson and CJ Bryce, will be called upon a ton to get hot from long-range if the Wolfpack are to pull off the home win tonight. It’s no secret the best way to beat ‘Cuse’s famed zone D is by hitting the open three’s, and Beverly has been NC State’s hottest shooter of late. In the last two games, he’s gone 9-for-14 from three-point range (64%), posting back-to-back 17-point games and returning 5x value on his current DK price in both outings. The notable price increase on FD is tough to swallow, but Beverly has the upside to make value if he’s hitting his shots - which will be there for him since the aforementioned Syracuse zone opens up shooting lanes. Beverly’s hot three-point shooting in consecutive outings is particularly encouraging after he went 0-for-9 from deep just 10 days ago vs. Virginia Tech.

Bryce Wills - STAN ($4,700 DK / $5,400 FD) - One of the key injuries to monitor tonight will be Daejon Davis’ status ahead of tonight’s latest tip. Stanford’s lead point guard got hit in the head last Thursday and sat out Sunday’s game. He’s currently a game-time decision but there’s a good chance he misses tonight’s matchup vs. USC as well - opening the door for Wills to get extended playing time as the starting point guard. In that role on Sunday, the freshman put up nearly 19 DK points in 31 minutes as he made his seventh straight start. Wills has returned 4x or 5x value in five of the last six games and his production hasn’t taken a hit since Cormac Ryan returned to the lineup three games ago. If Davis is out, Wills makes for a strong value play on both sites in what should be an up-and-down matchup vs. USC.

Other Guards to Consider:

Jaylen Hands - UCLA ($7,900 DK / $7,600 FD)

Matt Bradley - CAL ($5,500 DK / $5,600 FD)

Jamorko Pickett - GTWN ($4,700 DK / $5,600 FD)

D’Shawn Schwartz - COLO ($4,600 DK ONLY)

Forwards

Moses Brown - UCLA ($7,400 DK / $7,400 FD) - People may stay away from Brown tonight after he put up ZERO fantasy points on Saturday, but let’s pounce on his affordable price tag in a plus-matchup. Over the weekend, Brown was late to a shootaround and the UCLA coach punished him by benching him for all but the final six seconds of Saturday’s loss. It seems as though Brown has paid his dues and should be back to where he left off as the Bruins’ dominant center. In the four games before that benching, the freshman averaged 13.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 2.3 steals with two separate outings of 40+ DK points. Tonight, Brown will face one of the Pac-12’s worst rebounding teams - an appealing matchup considering he’s the conference-leader in offensive rebounding and put up 16 points, nine boards and two blocks in his first meeting vs. California last month.

Kerry Blackshear Jr. - VT ($7,200 DK / $8,000 FD) - Virginia Tech has struggled to win games lately with starting point guard Justin Robinson out - but it’s actually raised Blackshear’s DFS value as he’s being asked to do a lot more on both ends of the floor. In the past three games, Blackshear is averaging 17 points, 8.3 rebounds and 11 shots per outing with performances of 33+ DK points in each game. All those numbers are notably up from his season-long averages of 13.3 points, 6.7 boards, 9.4 shots and 27.3 DK points per game. Tonight, he gets a very favorable matchup vs. one of the worst rebounding teams in the ACC. When Blackshear faced undersized Georgia Tech earlier this season, he put up 14 points and 10 rebounds for 30 DK points. You can expect a similar performance tonight with the upside for much more considering Robinson was healthy for that first meeting.

Mfiondu Kabengele - FSU ($6,500 DK / $6,900 FD) - Kabengele has anchored Florida State during its current five-game winning streak as he’s turned into the team’s #1 scoring option over the last month. The 6’10” sophomore center still doesn’t start for the ‘Noles, but he’s regularly seeing crunch-time minutes off the bench and even logged a season-high 36 minutes in Saturday’s win over Louisville. Kabengele is coming off back-to-back performances of 35+ DK points and has scored at least 17 real points in six of the last eight games - including three outings of 22 or more. It’s also encouraging to see Kabengele’s shot volume in double-digits in each of the last two games despite being a regular bench player. He’s the clear go-to scorer when he’s on the court as he’s remarkably efficient in nearly every advanced stat category, per KenPom - his possession usage, shots share, offensive rating, block percentage and fouls drawn rate all lead the team and are each top 10 marks in the ACC.

Keyontae Johnson - UF ($5,500 DK / $5,800 FD) - Even with a salary increase, Johnson may be one of the safest plays tonight on all slates. Since entering Florida’s starting rotation in mid-January, the freshman has seven straight games of 20+ DK points and returned 4x value on his current DK price in four of the last six. Johnson doesn’t score a ton or get many shot attempts, but his rebounding ability and production across all stat categories has allowed him to remain productive for DFS purposes. Even with a smaller 6’5” frame, Johnson leads the Gators in combined rebounding rate and steals - and he’s helped anchor one of the best defenses in the country. Vanderbilt has lost all 10 of its conference games and should be overwhelmed on the road tonight in Gainesville.

Mayan Kiir - USF ($4,000 DK / $4,800 FD) - Another key injury to watch tonight will be the status of Alexis Yetna for South Florida. Yetna sat out Sunday’s game with a leg injury and is considered just “day-to-day” per coach Brian Gregory. In his absence, Kiir got his second straight start and logged a season-high 34 minutes with 28.5 DK points. If Yetna sits out tonight, expect Kiir to enter the starting rotation again with the potential to be a nice source of value in all formats. South Florida’s opponent tonight (UCF) boasts 7’6” center Tacko Fall - who should matchup with Kiir’s teammate Michael Durr on both ends, opening up space for Kiir to get his share of shots and rebounds like he did vs. ECU over the weekend.
