Tuesday’s MLB consists of 14 games on the main slate, but there is rain concerns in at least four of the games tonight.  Sometimes stacking players from those games pay off, but will stay away from those game in today’s stack the deck options.  Feel free to play around with a few combos of your own.  As always, things can change based on lineups and weather, so do stay up to date using the Playbook Pro tools.  Below are my favorite stack options for the day.  Good luck!

96.4% of all lineups that cashed last season on DraftKings stacked at least two players.

Stacks for Tuesday, April 25

Note:  The Washington @ Colorado game has some rain concerns, but is still the highest run total game of the night, with their team stacks as an elite option.

Reds @ Brewers

Both of these teams have elite fantasy producers.  This is due to the power of the Brewers bats lately, and the speed of the Reds.  Add in a favorable hitter’s ballpark with average pitchers, and this makes for a nice alternative game to stack tonight.  They have scored a combined 29 runs over their past two games, and those numbers could grow again tonight.

Right-handed batters are hitting .436 against Zach Davies (17-for-39)  this season (Rank: 135th of 135 qualified SPs in MLB; League Avg: .243).  Billy Hamilton has attempted 10 stolen bases versus RHP this season (Rank: 1st of 14 in MLB).  This has made Reds hitters coming to the plate with runners in scoring position in 201 of their 760 plate appearances (26.4%).

Right-handed hitters have a line drive rate of 38.9% (14/36) against Scott Feldman this season (Rank: 122nd of 122 qualified SPs in MLB).  Even though the Brewers fare best against lefty pitchers, Thames and Braun have combined to hit 11 HR’s off right handed pitchers this season.  Villar has struggled a bit to start the year, but could easily break out tonight.

Top Targets:  Eric Thames, Ryan Braun, Joey Votto, Billy Hamilton, Jonathan Villar, Jett Bandy, Scott Schebler, Jose Peraza

Arizona

The D-Backs are the only team outside of Coors field that have over a projected five run total tonight.  While Goldschmidt sat last night, Owings and Peralta both were able to go deep for the Arizona win.  Tonight the face the lefty in Clayton Richard, who faced Arizona in his last start, struck out eight batters, but also gave up nine hits.  Arizona is a much different park than San Diego, and feel that Richard is due to regress sooner rather than later.

The Diamondbacks are hitting .314, have an OBP of .370, and an OPS of .900 at home this season, all good for  1st of 30 in MLB.  They also  have attempted 26 stolen bases this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB), providing an additional opportunity for fantasy points.

Top Targets:  A.J. Pollack, Paul Goldschmidt, Chris Owings, Yasmany Tomas, Chris Iannetta

Texas

Rangers are slight underdogs tonight at home vs the Twins, and with the wind projected to blow in, many will be off them tonight. This could also be due to their opposing hitters batting only  .099 against Ervin Santana (9-for-91)  this season (Rank: 1st of 149 qualified SPs in MLB; League Avg: .245).  Two of those games were against a struggling White Sox team at the time though.

Texas bats are aggressive though, with 13.8% of Rangers' hitters plate appearances lasting only one pitch (102/737 PAs)  this season (Rank: 1st of 30 in MLB).  They have turned that into 19 Extra-Base hits out of 35 total hits (54.3%) on the first pitch of at-bats this season, as well as have gone deep once every 19.9 AB’s at home this season.

Top Targets:  Mike Napoli, Shin-Soo Choo, Joey Gallo, Jonathan Lucroy, Nomar Mazara

St. Louis

The Cardinals host the Blue Jays for an interleague matchup tonight, and make for a nice sneaky stack option.  Estrada has pitched well his last two outing for the Jays, and has been hard to get to when he gets in front of batters, throwing at least two strikes in his first three pitches 73.5% of the time to opposing left-handed batters this season, while also throwing strikes at a  rate of 75.2% (91/121) with two strikes this season (Rank: 2nd of 153 qualified SPs in MLB).

St. Louis may be waiting for the temps to reach 100 plus before putting up runs, as their hitters are slugging just .310 (86 total bases in 277 ABs) at home this season (Rank: 30th of 30 in MLB), and when they have a rbi chance, they have struck out 43 times in 168 PAs (25.6%) with RISP this season (Rank: 27th of 30 in MLB).

This sets up a nice boom or bust stack with the Cardinals tonight.

Top Targets:  Matt Carpenter, Aledmys Diaz, Dexter Fowler, Yadier Molina, Kolten Wong.
