Typically this is a week that we are very pumped up for as it’s ‘DEGA BABY!! But that energy is tempered a bit with how the iRacing has been going to this point so it’s more like…’Dega baby. Talladega is the biggest oval track in the NASCAR cup series schedule at 2.66 miles a lap and that distance also makes it the fastest track at the Cup level with speeds routinely reaching more than 200 mph. Now that’s obviously on the actual Talladega circuit whereas we’re talking iRacing again this week and that means that things will look a bit different bit we still expect the speeds and pack racing to continue just like they typically do at the Alabama Superspeedway.

This week will be the shortest race laps-wise yet as there are only 70 scheduled trips around the track in this one since they’ve been trying to keep the races to about 150 miles and at 2.66 miles the 70 laps makes the race 186.2 miles. That means that laps led points will be reduced this week, as they always are at plate tracks like ‘Dega and Daytona with the way the racing happens at these tracks. So we are focusing instead on the drivers that can finish up front and move up through the field as position differential, at least on DK, will be a huge part of scoring this week as will finish position points.

With that in mind, here is the link to the Track Breakdown for this week:
