Welcome to Wednesday’s three-game NHL Slate. There are a handful of elite options to choose from, like Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights, but we will need to dig deep to find value plays. It’s a short slate, so finding players with a high floor is critical. DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

It’s a short three-game slate with some elite players to choose from, but the value plays are what is going to set your lineup apart. All the games have a 6.5 total, so there will be goals to go around. We just need to make sure we are finding the maximum amount of value from some secondary players.

Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups

Sergei Bobrovsky, G, Florida Panthers

Sergei Bobrovsky is a decent goalie but his matchup on paper tonight is elite. The Washington Capitals can’t score goals and that won’t change here. Bob could let us down, but if he does, others are going down with us.

Cam Talbot, G, Los Angeles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings are 6-0-0 on the road and a big reason for that is Cm Talbot. He’s been elite this season and is playing on a team that has no problem scoring goals. Vegas is a tough matchup for him, but the value here is excellent. There’s no reason he should be $7400 on DraftKings.

Joseph Woll, G, Toronto Maple Leafs

Joseph Woll is going to get every shot possible to run away with the starting job. His numbers are really good-- sporting a 2.30 GAA and a .930 SV%-- and gets a soft matchup against a below-average Ottawa team. There’s a chance that he gives up a few goals, but I do think he can come away with the win.

Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups

Aleksander Barkov, C, Florida Panthers

Aleksander Barkov has ten points in as many games and is providing consistent fantasy value. His shot total is low but we know that he can rack up points. At his current price tag, I have no issues with rolling him out in all formats.

Auston Matthews, C, Toronto Maple Leafs

It’s never a bad idea to get Auston Matthews into your lineup. He’s a talented player with an elite shot who has seven goals in the last ten games. Even with his high price tag, he could still hit value and lead our DFS team to the money.

William Nylander, W, Toronto Maple Leafs

If you can’t afford AM34, William Nylander is the next-best option. He has 16 points on the season and is shooting the puck a ton. Ottawa does give up a ton of scoring chances, so this is a smash spot for the Swedish winger. 

Quinton Byfield, W, Los Angeles Kings

I would prefer Kevin Fiala or Adiram Kempe in this spot, but we need to target some value. Quinton Byfield doesn’t shoot the puck enough, but he has six points in the last three games and is $3900 tonight. Even with his low ice time, the kid is finding a way to make an impact so I’ll take my chances with him on a short-slate.

T.J. Brodie, D, Toronto Maple Leafs

Nothing sexy about T.J. Brodie but we know that he loves to block shots. He’s playing a healthy amount of minutes and is in a really good spot. As long as he’s cheap, he’s an option to consider every time he’s on the slate.

Alex Pietrangelo, D, Vegas Godlen Knights

I don’t love paying up for defenceman, but Alex Pietrangelo is $5800 tonight and is just a stat stuffer. He’s capable of racking up points, blocking shots and shooting the puck. He can hit value without having to register a point. My lineup build will start with him because the upside with him is just through the roof.
