Tonight’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate takes us to Los Angeles where the Lakers are facing the Thunder as we look to finish our night off in the green. The star power is certainly on the side of the home team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis but we shouldn’t overlook the contributions of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he has certainly been an offensive threat for Oklahoma City this season. With the Lakers favored by 6.5 points, it could be a steep hill to climb, but with an over/under of 239, there should be plenty of DFS production. Let us dig into some options to consider when setting your lineup.

NBA DFS Showdown Slate Picks

MVP/Captain

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

From a matchup perspective, Davis certainly has the advantage tonight as the Thunder struggle against opposing big men. Since returning, Davis has been locked in averaging 27 points and 11.8 rebounds in his last four games, and while it was a revenge game against New Orleans on Saturday, he did go off for 34 points and 14 rebounds.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder

While Gilgeous-Alexander is not on the same level as James, he is closer than maybe some might think. Well, at least from a scoring perspective that is as the guard is actually averaging slightly more points per game (30.8 vs. 30) points per game than James. Guards generally feast against the Lakers from a DFS perspective, and SGA should be looking to bounce back after making just six of 16 shots from the field in his last game.

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

I know it is boring, and I apologize for that, but what’s right is right. The ankle hasn’t slowed James down yet this season, and a down game for these days is his 27-point, nine-rebound, six-assist performance from Saturday. James is 35 points away from the all-time scoring record, I’m going to take the approach that he gets the record tonight as once he gets within a few points, business will be taken care of.

Utility

Josh Giddey, Oklahoma City Thunder

Giddey continues to be a strong and consistent option for the Thunder, and the game flow along with the high over/under should only serve to benefit him. In his last five games, Giddey is averaging 17.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and seven assists per game as he continues to fill the stat sheet.

Dennis Schroder, Los Angeles Lakers

The point guard has been logging steady minutes for the Lakers, 35 per game in his last five, but during this stretch, he has struggled with his shot. While he is not known as a high-efficiency shooter, Schroder is shooting just 35.4% from the field, but his 5.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game do help to round out the production. The volume continues to be there, so now we just need a few more shots to fall.

Troy Brown, Los Angeles Lakers

While we do have to keep an eye on things with Austin Reaves returning tonight, Brown has been getting heavy minutes for Los Angeles, and he came through with a strong performance on Saturday with 13 points and six rebounds in 31 minutes of action.

Rui Hachimura, Los Angeles Lakers

As the Lakers get healthier, Hachimura has seen a decrease in his playing time, but the forward still should be good for around 20-25 minutes in a supporting role. Hachimura is capable both offensively and, on the boards, and he should continue to be involved for the Lakers.

Dart Throw

Aaron Wiggins, Oklahoma City Thunder

By now, everyone is familiar with how things go from a DFS perspective with the Thunder, but he has our attention after playing at least 23 minutes in four of his last five games and seemingly being in the starting lineup. Of course, the problem is the fact that Wiggins scored a combined 14 points in three games before putting up 19 points on Monday. Which version of Wiggins will we get tonight?

Austin Reaves, Los Angeles Lakers

After missing a month with a hamstring injury, Reaves makes his return tonight, and it is unclear what exactly we can expect from him. To this point, Reaves is averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in 29 minutes, so he could prove to be a solid option if he runs into a few shots and doesn’t have much of a minutes restriction.
