Once again, tonight’s NBA DFS Showdown Slate takes us to Los Angeles as a shorthanded Lakers team takes on the Sacramento Kings. To this point, the 2022-2023 season has been pretty close to a complete disaster for the Lakers, and now it appears they will be without LeBron James who is dealing with an adductor injury. Despite being listed on the NBA injury report, Anthony Davis was probable with a back injury but he is now dealing will an illness, but is still expected to have a large role once again while the Kings will be led by De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Should Davis ultimately be sidelined, then things might really get crazy tonight. Be sure to check out our NBA DFS projections, NBA DFS Lineup Generator, and all of the rest of our NBA DFS content and tools! Let us take a look at some NBA DFS Showdown Slate picks for tonight.

NBA DFS Showdown Picks

MVP/Captain

Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers

Davis will be counted on to carry the load tonight for the Lakers, and the hope is that maybe tonight will go better for Los Angeles as they have had a rough go of it. Foul trouble was an issue for Davis against the Clippers, but he still managed to finish with 21 points and nine rebounds which preserved the double-double he is averaging for the season (23/10.2). Davis should be in line for close to 20 shots tonight in what figures to be a high scoring game.

Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings

Sabonis should find little resistance tonight but we do need to see the offensively involved version of the big man tonight. When we last saw Sabonis on Wednesday, he took just eight shots from the field, but thanks to going 11 of 12 from the line, he still finished with 21 points. On the season, Sabonis is averaging 16.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game in what has been established for him as a legitimate floor. Prior to Wednesday, Sabonis had four straight games of double-digit rebounds and can easily finish with 25 to 30 points tonight.

De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

It is a favorable matchup for Fox, well actually for all of the Kings from a DFS perspective, and we know that the volume and usage is going to be there tonight. At 25.2 points per game this year, Fox is back to his high scoring self on an overall basis, but there are some rough shooting nights mixed in here. With that being said, Fox is shooting 53.5% from the field this year to go along with five rebounds and 5.1 assists per game as the Kings offense truly runs through the now, veteran as it is his team.

Utility

Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Lakers

While Westbrook is still going to come off the bench tonight even with James sidelined, the guard will be busy as a main offensive threat. Even with James healthy, Westbrook has been taking double-digit shots from the field, but there is the issue of efficiency as it sometimes escapes the guard. That was the case on Wednesday with Westbrook making just six of 15 shots from the field, although he did finish with nine assists and four rebounds.

Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings

Huerter is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, but it truly is the median production for the swingman as we have seen him go from scoring 26 points in a game to just nine. While we do get a few assists and rebounds out of Huerter, the source of his production does come from what he does offensively. The good news is that Huerter plays a minimum of 30 minutes per night, so that is one thing we do not have to worry about.

Lonnie Walker, Los Angeles Lakers

Walker returns tonight from injury and steps into some vacated offense. In the three games prior to his illness, Walker was averaging 17.7 points per game in 30 minutes of action while shooting 50% from the field which means he will be very busy tonight.

Dart Throws

Malik Monk, Sacramento Kings

It might be a bit of stretch, but we do get some of the revenge angle tonight with Monk facing his old team. Over his last four games, Monk is averaging 18 points and 5.3 assists per game in 27 minutes of action, and there is no reason not to expect something similar tonight as you could make the argument that him and Westbrook are the most valuable players on tonight’s slate.

Wenyen Gabriel, Los Angeles Lakers

Gabriel got the start, and played 24 minutes, on Monday when James was sidelined, so why not go back to the well tonight? At the same time, we do have to keep our expectations held to a reasonable level as Gabriel took just three shots and only finished with four points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists. However, based on the price, there is still solid value, and anything more than that is gravy although ownership will be high here.

Troy Brown, Los Angeles Lakers

We get solid value here with Brown as he is likely going to play 25 to 30 minutes tonight and has reached double-digits offensively in five straight games scoring between 10 and 15 points. Brown is also averaging 5.6 rebounds per game in that stretch and he can fit nicely into just about lineups.
