Happy Saturday! Welcome to the MLB DFS Showdown Playbook for October 28! We are on to game 2 of the World Series after an instant classic in game 1! Both teams proved that they aren’t going to go down easy in this series, but Corey Seager played hero for the Rangers in the bottom of the 9th down to their final two outs, blasting an absolute bomb on a high fastball for a two-run bomb to tie the game, and then Adolis Garcia continued his extraordinary postseason with a walk-off homer in the 11th inning. We have just one game again today as the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers travel back to Houston after the Astros took a 3-2 series lead in game 5 off Jose Altuve’s clutch 3-run homer in the 9th inning. We should be in for another great battle today in game 2 in Arlington. Make sure to check out all of our amazing MLB DFS tools, as they are always worth going through before building your lineups, as are the Vegas OddsHowever, the playbook will still be the one-stop shop for building some winning MLB DFS lineups, so let’s jump right in!

MLB DFS Playbook October 28

Recommended DFS Starting Pitcher

We have two great pitchers going today. Merrill Kelly and Jordan Montgomery are both great options, so the question is, which offense do you want to back? I am going with the Texas Rangers to ride the momentum of that game 1 comeback and come out swinging in game 2 at home.

Jordan Montgomery, Texas Rangers

Jordan Montgomery has been brilliant for the Rangers all postseason. He is coming off claiming the win in game 7 against the Astros, coming in to throw 2.1 innings of relief on 2 days rest. Now he gets his regular scheduled start in game 2 of the World Series, and I expect him to continue to pitch great and stifle the Diamondbacks today. The question will be, can the pitchers that follow him for the Rangers do the same?

Recommended DFS Hitters

Adolis Garcia, Texas Rangers

Adolis Garcia has now homered in 5 straight games with 8 total homers this postseason. He now has the most RBIs of all time in a single postseason. Don’t overcomplicate this, Adolis has been unstoppable and is a good bet to keep providing fireworks in Arlington today.

Corey Seager, Texas Rangers

I am not just going with the players who hit the game-winning homers last night, it just happens to be that those two players are still my favorite plays today. Corey Seager would be the MVP this season if Shohei Ohtani didn’t exist. He was struggling with high fastballs for a while during the NLCS popping them up constantly, he has obviously locked back in after crushing that high fastball last night and when Corey Seager is locked in he is one of the best hitters in all of baseball.

Nathaniel Lowe, Texas Rangers

Nathaniel Lowe went hitless last night, but before that, he had 2 homers in his previous 3 games. He looked good at the plate yesterday despite not getting a hit. He had some solid swings and was just short of hitting a huge homer late in the game as well. I think he gets some better luck today and gets some hits to fall and contributes to this Rangers offense today.

Honorable mention: Ketel Marte, Tommy Pham, Gabriel Moreno
