We also have Shohei Ohtani coming off a double-dong and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Coors Field. Let's dive into today's playbook, core plays, and top stacks of the day!

MLB DFS Weather Center

Miami Marlins @ Boston Red Sox

There looks to be enough rain to potentially cause a delay in this spot. Not shying off offenses, and using pitchers in GPPs only if the weather does not improve before lock.

Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Blake Snell, San Diego Padres

Is this recent stretch the best of Blake Snell’s career? I understand he won a Cy Young, but he’s allowed just 1 ER over his last five starts and 2 ER over his last six. He’s thrown 6+ innings in each start and even has 11+ Ks in three straight. During the month of June, Pittsburgh ranks 25th as a team in OPS. This version of Snell is hard to ignore.

Kodai Senga, New York Mets

The difference in versions of Senga between him at home and on the road is crazy. Senga has pitched to a 4.58 ERA on the road but at home, where they’re playing tonight, he has a 2.52 ERA. He’s also averaging north of 6 DKP/game at home more than he is on the road. Milwaukee has the fifth-highest K-rate in the league against RHP. They’re also 25th in OPS vs. RHP. Elite spot.

Braxton Garrett, Miami Marlins

We’re getting such a good version of Garrett right now and he’s coming off arguably his best career start against the Pirates in which he tossed 7 IP, 1 ER, 13 Ks. He’s now topped 27 DKP in three straight starts, 22 DKP in six of eight, and has 6+ Ks in eight of nine. This is not an easy spot but Boston does have a very left-handed heavy lineup and Garrett has a 2.18 ERA on the road.

JP Sears, Oakland Athletics

The Yankees offense continues to be absolutely anemic and although they may deposit a home run here, as that’s been Sears MO, I’m not sure they’re going to be able to do much more to him. He’s put up 5+ K’s in four straight starts, 16+ DKP in all four, and has now pitched well into back-to-back games notching 7 innings in each. In June, the Yankees have a 27.7% K-rate and a .672 OPS against lefties.

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers

The numbers Betts has against left-handed pitching this season are insane. He’s notched a .366 ISO, .426 wOBA, and a 12.2% BB rate. Betts faces off against Kyle Freeland, in Coors Field, and Freeland’s allowed righties to notch a .208 ISO and .355 wOBA on the year. Betts has elite eligibility to go along with his elite stats.

Josh Jung, Texas Rangers

Texas’ offense has a lot going for them in this spot. Joey Wentz, a left-handed hurler, has to face arguably the best offense in the league in a spot they’re implied to score 5.8 runs. Jung has been the Rangers' best left-masher notching a .311 ISO and .427 wOBA. Wentz has allowed a .229 ISO and a .376 wOBA to righty swingers this season.

Francisco Lindor, New York Mets

Lindor is in the midst of a power surge hitting four homers over his last nine games and is batting .355 over his last 10 games overall. Lindor has mashed lefties his entire career and this year has been no different posting a .341 wOBA and .378 wOBA. Wade Miley has been really lucky this season posting a 2.91 ERA but a .233 BABIP, 4.93 xFIP, and 4.97 SIERA too. The luck runs out against an offense that hits left-handed pitching well.

Nolan Jones, Colorado Rockies

If you’re telling me that Michael Grove is the primary pitcher here I’m going to have more exposure to the Rockies than I’m comfortable admitting. Nolan Jones is going to lead that charge. He’s destroyed right-handed pitching notching a .288 ISO and .453 wOBA. Grove has a .269 wOBA and .481 wOBA allowed to lefties and has to navigate Coors Field to boot.

Ryan O'Hearn, Baltimore Orioles

It’s been a nice resurgence for O’Hearn with the Orioles as he’s still hitting .314 with a .913 OPS on the year. He’s raked against right-handed pitching this year notching a .250 ISO and .401 wOBA. Lefties have crushed Luke Weaver notching a .233 ISO and a .373 wOBA this year. Weaver’s allowed at least 5 ER or more in three of his last four starts.
