Welcome to Wednesday!  A great slate of baseball games is in store to get you through the day and keep our week going strong. Coming off a day led by some usual suspects, with Bobby Witt and Kyle Tucker being two of the three highest-scoring players yesterday, along with a surprise 2-homer performance by Dylan Moore

You should’ve enjoyed the benefits of Kyle Tucker’s performance if you were in yesterday’s playbook, and hopefully, we will have you covered again today with some more winning MLB DFS lineups!

Today, we have a 10-game main slate on DraftKings and an 8-game main slate on FanDuel (missing the two evening games of Rockies vs. Athletics and Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers) that will both be getting started at 6:40 PM ET.

There is also an early 5-game slate this afternoon starting at 1:05 PM ET that you can play or just enjoy watching some daytime baseball while you get ready for this evening’s slate with today’s playbook and my favorite MLB DFS picks for the day!

Nothing looking too concerning for today.

MLB DFS Lineup Construction Thoughts

After a day without many top pitching options, we are back to a slate full of Aces. Even with the Tarik Skubal vs. Cole Ragans matchups happening this afternoon, this evening has no shortage of fantastic arms to target.

Outside of my favorites I will also give a nod to Freddy Peralta, Max Fried, and Nestor Cortes as very quality options that are just short of making it into my favorite plays of the day.

On the offensive side, there are some quality offenses to target today as well. Some of my favorite lineups to target today include the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Tyler Glasnow, Arizona Diamondbacks

Tyler Glasnow is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball, and there is an argument for him being number 1 right now. He gave up 4 earned runs and only went 5 innings against the Cincinnati Reds in his last outing, but it still came with 8 strikeouts. Those 8 strikeouts are his lowest amount in his last 5 starts.

Considering 8 strikeouts in 5 innings feels like your floor, with 10+ strikeouts being extremely possible (10+ strikeouts in 4 of his last 7 starts), it is worth paying for Glasnow as the top pitcher.

Jared Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates

Only 4 pitchers have a better K-BB% than Tyler Glasnow, and Jared Jones is one of them. He has proven himself to be elite with very few hiccups this season and 7 or more strikeouts in 7 of his 9 starts this season. If you need to save the $1,000 but want an elite pitcher, Jared Jones is an incredible Glasnow alternate (or if you are playing FanDuel and can't use Glasnow), and I might even consider a lineup with both of them.

One of his weakest outings was against the Giants, where he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings, only striking out 3. However, considering his strikeout stuff and the fact that he has gone at least 6 innings in 5 of his last 6, I think that he has a better outing against them today and will get at least 7 strikeouts, along with a quality start.

Jesus Luzardo, Miami Marlins

This price feels far too low for Jesus Luzardo. Since his short stint on the IL, he has had two solid outings: 8 strikeouts in 5.2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs to the Phillies, and then throwing 6 scoreless innings against the Mets with 7 strikeouts.

The Brewers have a solid offense, but a 24.2% strikeout rate against lefties means that Luzardo should still be able to attack them effectively if he is pitching well. While the win equity is going to be a little tough with Freddy Peralta on the mound opposite him against a not-very-good Marlin offense, there is still good strikeout upside for Luzardo at this price.

Chris Bassitt, Toronto Blue Jays

Chris Bassitt fell an out shy of his third straight quality start. Still, he has looked solid in his last three outings after getting beat up by the Dodgers at the end of April. While he doesn’t have the strikeout upside of many other pitchers on today’s slate, facing the Chicago White Sox gives him a great chance at a win and, hopefully, another quality start with at least a handful of strikeouts.

While I am most likely spending more on pitching because of the quality of today's top-end pitchers, if I need to save some money, Chris Bassitt provides a safe option for some solid production on the cheap end today.

*Note: Will Be Updated As Official Starting Lineups Are Released

Bryson Stott, 2B Philadelphia Phillies

Bryson Stott has the sixth-best OPS in May, just behind his teammate Bryce Harper. While I like Harper today as well, you can get Stott for $1,000 cheaper, and he has been one of the highest-scoring second basemen all season.

This is a great spot for this Phillies team to continue scoring plenty of runs. I don’t trust Dane Dunning to continue pitching as well as he has to start the season, and I think Bryson Stott is being overlooked for how great he has been hitting so far this season.

Isaac Paredes, 3B Tampa Bay Rays

Isaac Paredes also has an OPS over 1.000 in May. He had another 3-hit performance yesterday against the Red Sox and continues to be an offensive force for the Rays.

Brayan Bello has had some homer problems so far this season with a 1.98 HR/9 and his worst outing last time out giving up 3 homers against the St. Louis Cardinals. This should be a matchup that Paredes can take advantage of and continue to provide good numbers.

Corey Seager, SS Texas Rangers

Corey Seager is back to doing Corey Seager things. He has hits in 14 of his last 16 games, along with 5 homers and a .946 OPS over that stretch. He has also homered in back-to-back games now.

We should see a slugfest in Philly today with two strong offenses going up against pitchers I don’t trust. Just as I already highlighted the Phillies being able to put up runs on Dane Dunning, I think I trust the Rangers even more to score plenty against Taijuan Walker

Jarren Duran, OF Boston Red Sox

With no Astros on today’s slate, I can’t highlight Kyle Tucker for the outfield once again. So, I’m taking the chance to highlight how great Jarren Duran has been. He is on a nice little 7-game hitting streak, and on that streak, 8 of his 10 hits have gone for extra bases with 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 homers.

While I am a fan of Ryan Pepiot, I don’t trust him today in his first start back from the IL against this Boston offense that hits right-handers quite well. Jarren Duran should be able to keep this hitting streak going with some more extra-base hits as well.
