2023 Player Outlook
McCarthy had quickly emerged on the scene and hit .283 in 99 games in what was his first extended taste of major league action. With 23 stolen bases, McCarthy was a true speed threat and helped a lot of fantasy managers that plucked him off the waiver wire. This season, McCarthy is being drafted with the expectations of a repeat performance, but we should see his .283 batting average come back down to earth as evidenced by his .249 xBA. We are not going to see much power from McCarthy but he has proven to be a capable stolen base threat throughout his career, but I do have some doubts as to how much he will run if he gets closer to a .250 batting average and is batting third in front of Christian Walker.
