Seattle Mariners

The Mariners might not seem like a big time stack today, but they have some nice upside against Nathan Eovaldi , who has only made two starts this season. In those two starts, Eovaldi has given up 4 ER in 11 IP. These are the first two starts Eovaldi has made since 2016, since he missed all of last year. If we look back to 2016, we can get a better picture of his stats. That season he gave up a .367 wOBA to lefties along with 2.03 HR/9. He was slightly better vs right-handed hitters in terms of wOBA, but still gave up 1.39 HR/9 to them. Despite this not being the best hitter’s park, the Mariners have some nice power upside, which can take Eovaldi deep today. Ryon Healy might be overlooked today due to the righty vs righty matchup, but he comes in with a respectable .180 ISO vs right-handed pitchers this season. Healy really isn’t that expensive at all and can fit into any lineup. Kyle Seager has hit eight of his 11 home runs this season vs right-handed pitchers, which is due to his .212 ISO against them. Dee Gordon and Denard Span will also have the platoon advantage against Eovaldi. Also don’t be afraid to play Nelson Cruz or Mitch Haniger if you have the salary.

Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles are going up against Marco Estrada , who simply put, is just bad. There is really no other way to put it, he is bad. This is his stat line vs right-handed hitters this season, .380 wOBA, 1.98 HR/9, 55.5% fly ball rate, and a 35% hard contact rate. Those are some rough numbers and they don’t get better vs lefties, a .357 wOBA, 1.27 HR/9, 49% fly ball rate, and a 27% hard contact rate. He has given up four earned runs in three of his last five starts. With numbers as bad as this, you can really play either type of hitter. Here are some hitters with solid ISO’s vs RHP. Manny Machado .238 ISO. Adam Jones .200 ISO. Pedro Alvarez .192 ISO. Trey Mancini .179 ISO. Jonathan Schoop .173 ISO. All of these should be in play and have nice power upside in this matchup. The Blue Jays have been opening the roof at the Rodgers Center these past few days, if they do it again, it will only be a boost to the hitters.

Cleveland Indians

The Indians will likely be one of the more popular teams on today’s slate, but they are in a great spot and have big-time power upside. They are going up against Artie Lewicki , who is giving up a .346 wOBA to righties, and a .326 wOBA to lefties. He is making his second straight spot start for the Tigers, which may not last long, but don’t worry, the Tigers bullpen is also bad, as they have a 1.41 WHIP and a 4.32 ERA in 229 IP. Most of the Indians hitters are expensive but come in with great power numbers. José Ramírez .423 wOBA, .326 ISO. Edwin Encarnación .393 wOBA, .292 ISO. Francisco Lindor .348 wOBA, .237 ISO. Michael Brantley .378 wOBA, .202 ISO. Yonder Alonso .358 wOBA, .190 ISO. These are some serious power bats, and if you have the salary, they offer plenty of upside today.
