Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups

Max Fried, Atlanta Braves

Fried is coming off a very impressive and dominating effort against the Dodgers in which he fired 7 shutout innings with 10 Ks to finish with 36.8 dk points. He hasn’t allowed more than 3 runs in any of his past four outings and has only allowed more than 3 runs in two of his 11 starts this year. He has also been striking people out at a better rate recently, with 24 Ks over his last 18.2 innings. He is by far the biggest favorite on the slate too.

Ryan Pepiot, Los Angeles Dodgers

Pepiot has looked really good thus far, posting a 1.29 ERA and 0.71 WHIP across his first three starts, while striking out 14 in 14 innings. That has been enough to score at least 16 DK points in all three outings. Today he’s in a good spot against Miami as they rank as a very poor offense, so look for Pepiot to continue his success.

Carlos Rodon, New York Yankees

Rodon has been pretty bad this year, but he’s been pitching a bit better of late as he has a 2.87 ERA over his last three starts with 12 Ks across 15.2 innings. He has scored at least 16 DK points in two straight. Perhaps more importantly is the fact that he is taking on the lowly Detroit Tigers today and that’s been a matchup we have attacked all year. Rodon is the third biggest favorite on the slate.

Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups

Austin Riley, 3B, Atlanta Braves

I like all of the Braves tonight if I am being honest, anyone in their lineup is in play. Adam Wainwright has been awful, the Braves lineup is incredible, and Atlanta is a good place for offense, especially under these conditions. That being said, we are going with Austin Riley as the pick for a breakdown because of a few reasons. The first being the wind is out to LCF, which is good for him. The second being that he is hot right now and has four home runs in his last 10 games, including one in each of the past two games.

Jordan Lawlar, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks

Lawlar is set to make his MLB debut tonight for the Dbacks and it’s really really easy to like him at the minimum price. He had eye-popping numbers in the minors this year with a .874 OPS, 20 bombs, and 36 steals across 105 games. He offers upside in a variety of ways and this matchup with Javier Assad isn’t nearly scary enough to not play Lawlar at this price tag. Not available on FD because they don’t update their player pools well.

Julio Rodriguez, OF, Seattle Mariners

Jrod continues to go bananas as he has a 1.210 OPS over his last 10 games with SIX home runs and a pair of stolen bases. He now has 27 home runs and 36 steals to go along with 93 RBI and 86 runs scored. He is averaging 15.6 dk points per game over his last 10. He makes for a good alternative to a more chalky Acuna, but playing both could prove to be profitable as well.

Seiya Suzuki, OF, Chicago Cubs

I have rolled with Suzuki a lot lately, but it continues to prove to be a profitable choice. He is hitting .333 with a 1.073 OPS over his last 10 games, while swatting three home runs and swiping a bag. He now has 16 home runs and 5 steals on the year. He has scored 10, 25, 31, and 14 dk points over his last four games and now he gets to face an awful pitcher in Rynn Nelson.
