Relatively small shifts in the LCS after Saturday’s games. The top three (Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, and Team Liquid) all remain the same as more team bunch around the 7-5 mark and sit at 4th place. The other place of congestion is around the playoff cut line where Immortals (3-9) only hold a one game lead over Dignitas (2-10) for the eighth place spot. One real pressing game on the slate today (TL v C9) that is not only closely matched but has large implications on the playoff seating near the top of the league. Let’s dive in!

Game #1: Team Solomid (+125) v Golden Guardians  (-155)

Game Breakdown: At first yesterday when I saw that GG had both River and Pridestlkr listed on their roster I thought it was a mislabeled. In reality, GG made a move to pick up a jungler (River) that fits more of their playstyle. While they lost against CLG, I think it is safe to analyze and say that the loss wasn’t really on River. While it may not have helped thaat they haven’t played together on stage yet, he proved to bring a more aggressive playstyle that this team needed. TSM was absolutely rinsed across the map losing in 28 minutes and ended 13k gold down. Horrific farming, ganking, and objective control caused their issues on Saturday and I expect them to continue here.

Favorite Picks: Licorice (GG: $6,200), AblazeOlive (GG: $7,000), Stixxay (GG: $7,200), Olleh (GG: $5,600)

Value Picks: Spica (TSM: $6,200), Team Solomid ($4,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Golden Guardians

Game #2: Evil Geniuses (-285) v FlyQuest (+200)

Game Breakdown: FlyQuest suffered one of their worst losses of the year against Cloud9 on Saturday. They lost in less than 27 minutes and by nearly 14k gold. Berserker (C9 ADC) had a deathless performance on Zeri going 6-0-8 nd beating out Johnsun (FLY ADC) in the gold department by 4k gold himself. Evil Geniuses had one of their worst games in domestic play on Saturday but ended the game as the winner. Inspired (EG jungler) is just too good in clutch moments and the gap between him and FLY’s Josedeodo is going to be too large in this matchup.

Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $12,000/$8,000), Inspired (EG: $7,400), Vulcan (EG: $6,400)

Value Picks: Philip (FLY: $5,000), toucouille (FLY: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Evil Geniuses

Game #3: Team Liquid (-150) v Cloud9 (+116)

Game Breakdown: This is a warning that this is a dangerous game to make picks on because both teams are so incredibly close in almost every regard. Both lineups have huge amounts of talent and work hard to be aggressive in their playstyles at time. The problem with both teams are their tendency to be wildly inconsistent. This may seem unfair, both teams in the top third of the league, but it is how they play out games. They do not close out games they have huge leads in and many times they need to be saved by throws/misplays by their opponents. That is a good enough way to win against lower tier teams but against the best, they will start losing a lot more.

Favorite Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $11,100/$7,400), Santorin (TL: $6,800), CoreJJ (TL: $6,000)

Value Picks: Fudge (C9: $5,600), Berserker (C9: $6,400)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Liquid

Game #4: Immortals (+300) v 100 Thieves (-450)

Game Breakdown: Don’t get sucked too far into the Immortals hype yet. Yes, they should have beat Evil Geniuses on Saturday and yes, they do look better. But if you watched that game on Saturday you saw IMT’s top laner (Revenge) have his best day on the same day as Impact (EG top laner) have his worst day. Every other lane for EG won by a substantial margin and it was only off of two really poorly picked fights that IMT had a chance to win. 100 Thieves continue to roll. This team seemingly has cut some of their weird draft strategies and are refining themselves for the playoffs. FBI (51 kills, 56 assists) continues to be a rock for this team but his mid (Abbedagge) has really turned around his split and become a threat throughout the game. This could be another race for 100 Thieves to put away a team before 27 minutes.

Favorite Picks: Closer (100: $7,200), Abbedagge (100: $7,800), 100 Thieves ($5,800)

Value Picks: Revenge (INT: $4,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: 100 Thieves

Game #5: Dignitas (+155) v Counter Logic Gaming (-205)

Game Breakdown: Counter Logic Gaming has the opportunity to hit 8 wins, this after coming in tenth place in the Spring Split. They have a pretty standard approach to the game and to their credit, they have started relying on their ADC (Luger) less than they had at the beginning of the year. They face  Dignitas squad who appear to have committed to a full scale firesale. They traded away their best player in River and they just cannot find a workable lineup. They are now mixing in academy players, which usually is a signal that they have no faith in the lineup they have built. I expect a good day for CLG and for them to possibly slide into sole control of 4th place.

Favorite Picks: Luger (CLG: $11,400/$7,600), Dhokla (CLG: $6,000), Poome (CLG: $5,800)m

Value Picks: Blur (DIG: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Counter Logic Gaming
