We are rounding into the last week of LCS play for the Summer Split and things could not be tighter! Five teams have locked up spots and only three placements remain. All the while teams like CLG and TL could still move up three spots and steal first away from one of the two top dogs in the LCS.  The super weekend (just like in the LEC)  turns up the pressure on teams to deliver day in and day out. Only six teams will make the cut, so let’s dive in!

Fantasy Value Breakdown

Game #1: Team Liquid v Dignitas

Game Breakdown: Coming into this final weekend of LCS play, Team Liquid has the second easiest schedule for their final three games. Dignitas has to be the easiest of the teams for TL on the weekend and with TL coming off a huge win over EG on Sunday, I am fully expecting a big performance. TL does need their bottom lane of Hans Sama and CoreJJ to be more active in the early game and be able to put out more pressure on the opposing duo. Dignitas are just a shell of a quality organization at this point and it is tough to watch their games and find much upside for them.

Favorite Picks: Bjergsen (TL: $11,700/$7,800), Bwipo (TL: $6,600), Santorin (TL: $7,000)

Value Picks: Spawn (DIG: $6,000), Biofrost (DIG: $4,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Team Liquid

Game #2:  Evil Geniuses v Golden Guardians

Game Breakdown: Much like Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses should run away with this one. They have the highest producing player in the LCS (Danny) and highest producing jungler (Inspired) as well. For a good portion of the Summer Split, Evil Geniuses have looked untouchable but there is more of a tempered feeling about them now. Understand that in this matchup, Golden Guardians are not on EG’s level right now. GG is so disjointed and veterans like Licorice and River are not driving the results that GG expected. That being said, locking in EG as the favorite for the LCS Summer playoffs may not be the best idea. They are a wild and reckless team that can score massive kill lines but also find games where they cannot stop dying. This lack of consistency makes me worried to widely pick their players but I am pretty firm with my pick that they win on Friday.

Favorite Picks: Danny (EG: $12,000/$8,000), Impact (EG: $7,000), Inspired (EG: $7,400)

Value Picks: River (GG: $5,600), LIDER (GG: $6,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Evil Geniuses

Game #3: FlyQuest v 100 Thieves

Game Breakdown: There are many reasons why you could make the case for 100 Thieves being seen as the best team in the league right now. They are on a huge hot streak (7 straight wins) including a win over the current first seed, Evil Geniuses. FlyQuest is a quality team with the potential to make some noise in the playoffs but they are not at the same level as 100 Thieves. 100T has one of the best early game averages and they do such a great job locking out teams in the later stages of the game. The value on the 100 Thieves player on this slate should not be understated, even into a team who could take a win off of them.

Favorite Picks: FBI (100T: $11,100/$7,600), Abbedagge (100T: $7,200), huhi (100T: $6,000)

Value Picks: Philip (FLY: $5,200), Josedeodo (FLY: $5,800)

Cann’s Match Pick: 100 Thieves

Game #4: Team Solomid v Counter Logic Gaming

Game Breakdown: CLG is currently in one of the greatest redemption arcs in LCS history. Last year, the organization published a video of their coaching staff telling the starters how bad they are and that they would all be fired at the end of the year. It was met with tremendous push back and most people had written off this org. Now they have transcended and have taken games off of teams like EG and Team Liquid.  TSM has taken CLG’s previous role as the “punchline of the league” and their play on the rift has followed suit. I am not convinced about how good CLG’s players actually are (compared to the heavy hitters) but there is little doubt that they are better than TSM.

Favorite Picks: Dhokla (CLG: $6,000), Palafox (CLG: $7,000)

Value Picks: Spica (TSM: $6,200), Chime (TSM: $5,200)

Cann’s Match Pick: Counter Logic Gaming

Game #5: Immortals v Cloud9

Game Breakdown: Here is my upset pick of the day. While Immortals have solo laners (Dhokla and PowerOfEvil) that I like, this series pick has more to do with how much I don’t love C9. They are in 5th, sitting at 8-7 and going 0-2 last weekend. They have huge names like Fudge, Blaber (multi-time winner of the LCS MVP award), and Jensen on their roster but they cannot put it together. They feel less than the sum of their parts and it has stemmed all the way back to the firing of their first planned coach of the year, LS. I wouldn’t invest a ton of money into IMT players but I want this to be a cautionary tale of dumping cash into C9 because of their name. They get more credit because of those past years of success but this iteration of C9 doesn’t deserve that.

Favorite Picks: Fudge (C9: $6,400), Berserker (C9: $7,200)

Value Picks: PowerOfEvil (IMT: $6,600), Immortals ($4,000)

Cann’s Match Pick: Immortals
