College Football PrizePicks Player Props Week 1 Saturday

Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State WR) – OVER 80.5 Receiving Yards

Ohio State continues to roll out top-end wide receivers and Marvin Harris Jr. is the latest bound to break out. He barely played last year as a freshman while Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba headlined the Buckeyes' receiving corps. With Olave and Wilson gone, Harrison Jr. is expected to step into a much bigger role as a sophomore and the No. 2 wideout next to Smith-Njigba. In this Week 1 matchup, the Notre Dame defense may look to focus their pass coverage on Smith-Njigba and force QB C.J. Stroud to look elsewhere. That should lead to plenty of targets and involvement for Harrison Jr. He went off for six receptions for 71 yards and three TD in the Rose Bowl game last year when Wilson and Olave sat out. That bodes well for his connection this season with Stroud.

Jake Bobo (UCLA WR) – OVER 4.5 Receptions

UCLA needs to replace a ton of receiving production from last year with Kyle Philips and Greg Dulcich now in the NFL. In steps Jake Bobo, who was a stud last season at Duke while racking up 74 receptions for 794 yards as basically the team's only offensive weapon. Bobo is expected to play a key role in UCLA's WR corps right away and be a top target for QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. In fact, Thompson-Robinson recently referred to Bobo as “my guy.” Let's hope that comes to fruition in an easy Week 1 matchup against Bowling Green. Bobo had at least five receptions in six straight games to begin last season and in eight of 12 overall. For comparison's sake, Kyle Philips had at least five catches in eight of 11 games last year as the Bruins' top receiver. If we assume Bobo will step into that production and continue what he did a season ago, then over 4.5 receptions is a great play.

KJ Jefferson (Arkansas QB) – UNDER 27.5 Fantasy Points

KJ Jefferson is a good quarterback, there's no denying that. But 27.5 fantasy points is a touch too high for him today. The Arkansas QB only eclipsed this line in three of 13 games last season. Two of those came against easy opponents (Rice and Georgia Southern) while the other came in offensive shootout with Ole Miss that featured 103 total points scored. In his 10 other games, he was below this line by PrizePicks' standards. Even though Jefferson does have dual-threat ability, he gets a tough test against the Cincinnati defense here. While Cincy did lose some talent to the NFL, it's still a talented D that will make Jefferson and Arkansas earn every yard. Plus, the Razorbacks offense lost Treylon Burks and Trelon Smith from last year – two players who made Jefferson's much easier.

Byron Cardwell (Oregon RB) – UNDER 40.5 Rushing Yards

Getting to 41 rushing yards doesn't seem that hard for a lead running back. Well, how about when that RB has to face the loaded Georgia defense? The Bulldogs gave up just 78.9 rushing yards per game last year (second-best in the country) and allowed only a handful of running backs to rush for more than 40 yards in a single game. This brings us to Byron Cardwell, who actually isn't the clear-cut starting RB for Oregon. The Ducks are expected to rotate in multiple backs with Cardwell and Minnesota transfer Mar'Keise Irving sharing the top spot. They also have Sean Dollars, Western Kentucky transfer Noah Whittington, and talented freshman Jordan James in the backfield. It's a big ask for Cardwell to get 41 rushing yards in a tough Week 1 matchup with Oregon likely rotating guys looking for a hot hand.

Theo Wease (Oklahoma WR) – OVER 37.5 Receiving Yards

After missing basically all of last season with an ankle injury, Theo Wease is finally back for Oklahoma. He also nearly transferred away this offseason but chose to return to OU because of new offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby coming to town. Wease wanted to play in Lebby's offense that was high-scoring and uptempo at UCF and Ole Miss the past few seasons. Despite missing a year, Wease still has a ton of talent and he should be a top target for QB Dillon Gabriel. Back when Wease was healthy in 2020, he had at least 38 receiving yards in seven of nine games during the regular season. All reports in camp are that Wease is fully healthy again and ready to exceed that previous production. This receiving prop is very low for a receiver who figures to play a prominent role in a fast-paced offense like Oklahoma's.
