CBB DFS Top Guards

Jarkel JoinerNCSTVT910031.6
Joiner, and not Terquavion Smith, has been NC State’s alpha offensively over the past month. He’s averaging 18.2 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 games and he’s scored 25+ points in four of the last six. Joiner is seeing heavy shot volume and usage on a regular basis and that shouldn’t change tonight. Expect Joiner to be popular in cash as the top player in the highest total of the slate. He had 21 points and 33 DK vs Virginia Tech earlier this season.
Erik StevensonWVUTTU880025.98780023.42
Stevenson ended the regular season hot, averaging 24.6 PPG over the final five games with at least 23 points scored in each. He’s taking a ton of threes lately and the Texas Tech defense allows a lot of opposing scoring from the perimeter. It’s a great matchup for him and Stevenson scored 27 points and went 6-for-14 from deep vs Tech last month.
RJ DavisUNCBC850029.62
Davis has been the better DFS play than Caleb Love most of this season and especially lately. He’s averaging 14.6 PPG and 28 DK over the past 10 games and he had 34+ DK in three straight to end the regular season. UNC needs to make a run in the ACC Tournament to get into the NCAA Tournament, so Davis should be heavily involved offensively and stuffing the stat sheet for a strong cash floor.
Desmond Cambridge Jr.ASUORST780026.05
Arizona State gets an easy matchup vs Oregon State tonight and it should put Cambridge immediately on our radar. He had 18 points/35 DK and 21 points/30 DK in two matchups vs ORST during the regular season and can take advantage of the poor defense once again. At the very least, we can bank on heavy shot volume for Cambridge tonight. Plus, he offers late-night hammer exposure on DK.
Justin MooreVUGU670023.07
Moore hasn’t been totally lighting it up since returning from injury, but he’s looked much more comfortable offensively over the past couple of weeks. The veteran guard has scored 17+ points in four of the past five games with 23+ in two of those. His shot volume is high and his DFS floor is safe for cash with his high-usage offensive role. This matchup vs Georgetown is a favorable one and Nova should win easily with Moore having a good game.

Also Consider:

  • Sean Pedulla – Virginia Tech (GPP)
  • Matthew Murrell – Ole Miss (GPP/Cash)
  • De'Vion Harmon – Texas Tech (GPP)

Jack ClarkNCSTVT570025.12
Clark is discounted because he’s been injured lately, but this is really cheap for the potential 20-30 DK points. Clark returned last game and put up 13 points with 23 DK across 24 minutes. He’s put up 32, 20, and 23 DK in three of his five games back after missing most of conference play. Clark was regularly dropping 25-30 DK before he got hurt and is a solid salary-saver tonight.
Bruce ThorntonOSUWISC530018.7560017.27
Thornton has taken on a much bigger offensive role for Ohio State ever since Zed Key got hurt. The freshman point guard had double-digit shot attempts in four straight games to end the regular season and he’s put up at least 19 points and 27 DK in three of the last four. It’s clear that Thornton’s shot volume and overall scoring role have increased in Key’s absence and it should continue tonight, making him a solid value.
James WhiteMISSSCAR44007.86
After previously being buried on the bench, White was playing 25-30 minutes per game in the final stretch of the regular season. He put up at least 16 DK in four straight games to end the year and took double-digit shots in both of the last two contests. The Ole Miss rotation and lineup have been changing all season, but White is trending up going into this SEC Tournament.
Joe ToussaintWVUTTU430018.52470017.13
Toussaint is definitely a volatile DFS play, but there’s always GPP upside for the West Virginia point guard. Case in point: he went off for 22 points and 38 DK vs Texas Tech earlier this season as an active part of the offense. Unfortunately, his minutes and shot volume change every game so we can’t trust in cash. But this is really cheap for a GPP dart throw in one of the slate’s high totals.
Jacobi WrightSCARMISS430013.58
Rostering players from a team as bad as South Carolina is always a risk, but Wright is really cheap based on his production over the past month. Since joining the starting lineup in early February, he’s averaging 19 DK over the past eight games with double-digit points scored in five of those. We’ll take that all day in cash at this sub-5k price. If Chico Carter remains out tonight, then Wright is locked into even more backcourt minutes too.

Also Consider:

  • Milos Uzan – Oklahoma (Cash)
  • Kario Oquendo – Georgia (GPP)
  • Jamarques Lawrence – Nebraska (Cash/GPP)
  • Mardrez McBride – Georgia (GPP)

Armando BacotUNCBC1030035.44
Bacot could have a big advantage down low if Quentin Post remains out for Boston College. We saw Bacot put up 49 DK vs BC earlier this season with 20 points and 16 rebounds – and that was with Post playing. If UNC wants to win today and make a run in this ACC Tournament, then it’ll likely have to lean on Bacot down low to be a difference-maker. He’s expensive, but the upside for 45-50 DK is always there when he’s dominating in the paint.
Derrick WalkerNEBMINN860029.76820027.40
Minnesota has one of the worst interior defenses and rebounding rates at the power conference level, so this is a great matchup for Walker. He had success against Minnesota in the regular season with 44 and 29 DK in the two matchups and stuffed stat sheets in both. Walker has been good for Nebraska lately, too, averaging a stat line of 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 30 DK per game over the past 10 contests.
Dawson GarciaMINNNEB810029.23800027.27
Ever since he returned from injury in mid-February, Garcia has stepped into an alpha role for a bad Minnesota team. The big man is averaging 17.5 PPG and 34 DK over his past six games back while taking a ton of shots and filling the stat sheet in multiple ways. Garcia performed well vs Nebraska this season with 46 and 39 DK in the two matchups and double-doubles in both. The cash floor and GPP ceiling are pretty high for him tonight.
Kalib BooneOKSTOU650022.18550020.95
The Oklahoma State big man is very boom-or-bust for DFS, but the highs have him smashing the slate and this affordable price tag. Boone has shown the ceiling for 30-40 DK at his best when he’s dominating offensively inside. However, the lows are literally in the single-digit DFS points when he gets into foul trouble. On the bright side, Boone has had success vs Oklahoma this season with 18 points/25 DK and 15 points/34 DK in two matchups.

Also Consider:

  • Justyn Mutts – Virginia Tech (GPP)
  • Eric Dixon – Villanova (Cash/GPP)
  • Spencer Jones – Stanford (GPP)
  • Myles Burns – Ole Miss (GPP)

Devin McGlocktonBCUNC540014.93
With Quentin Post out yesterday, McGlockton moved into the starting lineup and played 31 minutes. He had 11 points, four assists, four rebounds, and 24 DK in the extended playing time. If Post remains out again today, then McGlockton is a solid bargain in the mid-5k range. Plus, BC gets a pace boost vs UNC.
Felix OkparaOSUWISC480011.36400010.78
Okpara has been starting for Ohio State down the stretch with Zed Key out for the season. It hasn’t always translated to DFS success, but the freshman center did have 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 33 DK two games ago vs Maryland. He’s definitely an up-and-down DFS option, but the GPP upside is there at his cheap price tags tonight.
Tyler BilodeauORSTASU450013.48
Bilodeau has been a decent DFS value at times this season and he ended the regular season strong. The freshman has 17 and 22 DK in the past two games with 11 points scored in both. During conference play, Bilodeau’s 23% shot rate trailed only Jordan Pope for Oregon State. In a pace-boost matchup tonight, he’s a solid value for the 5x upside. Bilodeau had 17 DK in both matchups vs Arizona St this season.
Jalen ReedLSUUGA35009.7
LSU has been in the position of looking ahead to next season for some time now. With that in mind, Reed carved out a bigger role off the bench over the past month and it’s made the freshman big man a DFS value dart. He’s put up 24 and 17 DK in the past two games and also had 15 DK vs Georgia in mid-February. We don’t need much at this sub-4k price tag to return value. It’s encouraging to see Reed get heavy usage in his 20 or so minutes per game too.

Also Consider:

  • Qudus Wahab – Georgetown (GPP)
  • Prince Aligbe – Boston College (GPP)
