2024 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Winn made nine total appearances for the Giants last season, four of which came as a starter. Overall, he posted a 4.68 ERA (4.37 FIP) with a 1.04 WHIP, 1.70 BB/9, and 20.3 percent strikeout rate. His numbers were far better as a reliever, but outside of a bad ERA as a starter, he posted respectable marks as a starter, mainly a 1.07 WHIP and 19% K-BB%.

2024 Outlook: While the Giants are waiting for the returns of Robbie Ray and Alex Cobb, Winn should be a part of the team's rotation, but given that he likely has an innings cap around 130 IP this season, once those veteran return, he'll likely transition to the bullpen. Winn's best pitch is his splitter, and it generates a healthy number of ground balls and swings-and-misses. One bad start against the Dodgers blew up his numbers as a starter, so in NL-only formats, Winn is a late round dart throw in your fantasy drafts, but again, he'll likely be the odd man out of the rotation when Ray and Cobb return to health.
