2025 Player Outlook

As an everyday player for the Cubs last season, Busch slashed .248/.335/.440 with 21 home runs, 73 runs scored, and 65 RBI. His 28.6 percent strikeout rate was an improvement from 2023 (33.3%), and he made hard contact often yet again. A solid walk rate increases his value in OBP leagues, especially if his batting average dips closer to .220 this year (.218 xBA in 2024), but it’s hard to ignore his fly ball profile in the Windy City. He cooled off down the stretch, but he’s a quality target in leagues that value OBP at his current price, because if he produces, he figures to hit in the heart of the Chicago order, with guys like Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki in front of him.
