We have a nine-game slate tonight and you may need some value hitters, especially on FanDuel, as there are six pitchers priced at or above $10,000. Fortunately, there are a lot of value hitters tonight to help round out your MLB DFS lineups. Top prospect Gunnar Henderson is someone I have my eyes on this evening, while Albert Pujols is going to be rather chalky as he continues his push for 700 career home runs. If you ask me, there are some significant pricing mistakes on DraftKings, and that’s the site where I’m looking to exploit said errors. Check out our daily projections and weather center as you construct your DFS lineups for today’s MLB slate. Here are my favorite value plays for your MLB DFS lineups on Saturday, September 3.

MLB DFS VALUE PITCHERS

Luis García, HOU ($9,300 FD/$7,600 DK/$38 Yahoo)

We all know the benefits of attacking the Angels, and we can do so tonight with Garcia. The Angels have the third-highest strikeout rate against righties over the last two weeks, and Garcia is on the best side of his splits, as he has a 3.26 ERA on the road this year. While Garcia hasn’t been great of late, a good matchup should play him up a bit, and the price point on DraftKings makes it so you nearly have to play Garcia. In two starts against the Angels this year, he’s struck out 14 batters over 11.2 innings and allowed just five hits.

Austin Voth, BAL ($7,200 FD/$5,200 DK)

I know his upside is capped given his low ceiling in the strikeout department, but he’s pitched very well of late, allowing two or fewer earned runs in seven of his last eight starts. During this run, he has a 4-1 record, 2.28 ERA, and 7.48 K/9. Over the last two weeks, the Athletics have the 12th-highest strikeout rate against righties, but just a .233 batting average and .288 wOBA.

MLB DFS VALUE HITTERS

Mitch Haniger, SEA ($3,100 FD)

Don’t overthink it with Haniger today. He’s hitting .283 with a .455 SLG since returning to the lineup, and for the season as a whole, he has a .283/.311/.525 slash line with a .358 wOBA and 141 wRC+ against right-handers. This price tag seems to be a bit low for Haniger, especially as he has had four multi-hit efforts in his last eight contests.

Gunnar Henderson, BAL ($2,600 FD/$2,800 DK)

Lefties have a .376 wOBA against Adam Oller this season and the Oakland right-hander has a 5.29 ERA and 1.72 WHIP on the road this season. Henderson has hit safely in each of his first three big league games, and albeit with a small sample size, he has a .667 SLG and .427 wOBA against righties. Take advantage of the lower price tag for Henderson, because as the days and weeks go by, we won’t see him below $3,000 on many occasions.

Mark Canha, NYM ($3,100 FD)

Patrick Corbin is pitching for Washington, so I had to get at least one Met in today’s Value Vault. Canha is overpriced on the other sites, but on FanDuel, I’m on board. He’s 5-for-12 with one home run in his career against Corbin, and the Washington southpaw has an 8.83 ERA and 2.09 WHIP on the road this season. We all know Corbin stinks, so we don’t have to dive too deep into the overall numbers, but just know he stinks.

Max Kepler, MIN - ($7 Yahoo)

For a minimum price on Yahoo, you can take a flier on Kepler in a GPP and hope for the best. Dylan Cease has been more hittable at home than on the road, but Kepler does have three home runs and a .476 wOBA in his career against Cease. Kepler is hitting .333 with a .388 wOBA over his last six contests, including three multi-hit efforts.

Hunter Renfroe, MIL ($3,700 DK)

I love a Milwaukee stack tonight against Madison Bumgarner because the veteran left-hander has been horrible of late. He’s allowed four or more earned runs in seven of his last eight starts, and during this stretch, he’s allowed 64 hits (7 HR) across 45.1 innings of work, and a 7.35 ERA. Renfroe is 7-for-21 with three home runs against Bumgarner in his career, and during his nine-game hit streak, he’s hitting .429 with a 1.100 OPS and 206 wRC+.

Will Smith, LAD ($2,900 FD)

You don’t have to play a catcher on FanDuel, but Smith’s price point is appealing, especially considering tonight’s matchup. Smith is 3-for-6 in his career against Sean Manaea, and he has a .290 batting average, .373 wOBA, and .857 OPS against southpaws this season. The San Diego southpaw has a 7.29 ERA and 2.43 HR/9 over his last seven starts, and for the 2022 season, right-handed hitters have posted a .277/.328/.482 slash line against him with a .348 wOBA. Load up those Los Angeles righties tonight.

Albert Pujols, STL ($2,700 FD/$2,500 DK)

First and foremost, tread carefully with this one, as there is weather in the area and could play a big factor. If the weather holds up, Pujols is going to be super chalky, but the price point on DraftKings, in particular, is hard to ignore. Pujols has been one of the best hitters in baseball during these late summer months, and he has a .371 batting average, .402 ISO, and 1.188 OPS against southpaws in 2022. Pujols has cooled off a bit of late, but as he pushes towards 700, the added motivation will help. Expect Pujols’ ownership to be rather high if the weather holds off.
