Whether you’re chasing big GPP prizes or looking to cash in head-to-heads, we’ve got you covered with insights designed to give you an edge. Let’s dive into today’s slate and get ready to crush it!
Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!Â
Make sure you subscribe to the Fantasy Alarm YouTube channel so you never miss a show! Also, join the Fantasy Alarm Discord to get your DFS lineup questions answered by our MLB DFS team! MLB DFS Weather Conditions Summary for June 22, 2025
The weather for today's MLB DFS slate is hitter-friendly across all reported games. Warm temperatures, high humidity, and outgoing winds in prominent parks such as Chicago (SEA @ CHC) and Colorado (ARI @ COL) create elite offensive environments.Â
- Wrigley Field features 15-20 mph winds blowing out with 90-degree heat, preparing us for a slugfest.Â
- Coors Field, helped along by 10-15 mph outgoing winds and searing temperatures, is still a top stacking position thanks to its thin air and hitter-friendly ballpark.Â
- In Cincinnati (CIN @ STL), 10 mph winds blowing out to left boost power, particularly for right-handed hitters.Â
- Milwaukee (MIL @ MIN) features searing heat and humidity and strong right-to-left crosswinds that are more beneficial for infield plays than home runs.Â
- Pittsburgh (TEX @ PIT) features lighter 5-10 mph winds but warm, humid conditions that give a slight edge to hitters.Â
For DFS, stack lineups in Chicago and Colorado, target righty hitters in Cincinnati, and steer clear of pitchers in high-offense ballparks. Oppressive heat and humidity in each of the games increase ball carry and power hitters take center stage in DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
With a mid-sized slate this Sunday afternoon the ownership is stacked on a few specific matchups and with only one pitcher over $10,000 on DraftKings specifically, the ability to build with high priced offensive pieces is going to be a way to go.
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Chris Bassitt, Toronto Blue Jays
Bassitt is the highest rostered pitcher today on both DraftKings and FanDuel has he draws a favorable home matchup against the Chicago White Sox.
Bassitt has cooled a bit since him impressive start to the 2025 season but he's pitched a bit better of late, allowing just eight runs over 20 innings against some tough opponents in the Arizona Diamondbacks, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies.
With a weaker White Sox offense lined up on Sunday, many expect a ceiling performance to be in the cards.
Bryce Elder / Sandy Alcantara
Ok, so I know there is a wide price gap between these two starting pitchers today but there isn't that big of an ownership gap between them today on DraftKings.
I don't think Bryce Elder is anything special. We've seen Sandy Alcantara with a Cy Young award prior to his Tommy John surgery.
Yes, Sandy has been VERY bad this season and his recent stretch of success saw two of those three starts come against the Rockies and Pirates BUT he then faired well against the Phillies, getting tagged for just two solo home runs.
I'm not saying Sandy is a lock to pitch well but I can't for sure say that Elder goes out and dominates here either. If you want the chalk its Elder. If you want a slightly lower ownership play at a $1,000+ discount then Sandy is your guy.
Quinn Priester, Milwaukee Brewers
Maybe the former first round talent that is now on his third team has finally figured something out. Priester has allowed FEWER than two earned runs in six of his last eight starts.
The Minnesota Twins are an offense with some power and can throw a handful of lefty bats at him but his ability to generate ground ball outs and keeping the ball in the park has been a key to his success and something that if he does today should bring another strong outing his way.
Jack Leiter, Texas Rangers
Oh boy, this is going to be one of those starts where we find out if the talent we think Leiter has is really there as he draws a woeful Pittsburgh Pirates team this afternoon that even Kumar Rocker was able to find success against yesterday.
The peripheral numbers have not looked good for Leiter this season and now the real stats are starting to follow suit. He's walking too many guys, not missing enough bats and giving up home runs. None of what you want from your starting pitcher BUT the Pirates strike out a ton, don't hit many home runs and don't walk….sooooo…maybe today's the day we get a quality start with 5-to-6 strikeouts and a win for Leiter.

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
I don't know if you've seen the weather but….its HOT, its HUMID and the we have some great hitting conditions.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Cal Raleigh Always and Forever
Most homers ever by a catcher prior to the All-Star break and that number will continue to grow after he launched he league leading 30th homer of the season on Saturday.
It's hot, humid and wind is blowing out in Chicago today so unless the Cubs just decide to walk Raleigh every time he's at the dish, there is a good chance he homers again.
Eugenio Suarez Always and Forever (FD Only)
FanDuel slipped the Rockies Diamondbacks game on the slate today for all of us to celebrate Antonio Senzatela Day.
The Rockies righty has been hammered this season and right now the only person hotter than Cal Raleigh may be Suarez who hit his 25th homer of the season last night and now has four homers over the last three games.
Stacking the Diamondbacks on FanDuel will be a very popular thing to do today.
Ian Happ + Cubs
Listen, I know Logan Gilbert is an elite starting pitcher, we just saw him strikeout 10 against the Red Sox in his first start back from injury.
That said, the Cubs offense is NOT the Red Sox offense and right now Ian Happ is on FIRE with four homers over his last three games and six homers over his last 10.
It's not a popular play but the hitting conditions are elite.
Milwaukee Brewers Stack
I know there is some hype around the talent that is David Festa but we haven't really seen it consistently. He walks a lot of guys and we've already seen him give up three homers in a game.
Using a Yelich/Chourio two-man stack today in this matchup could be fruitful.Â
