This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you our favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

There will also be a daily MLB DFS Show with a variety of hosts ranging from myself, Jon Impemba, Howard Bender, and James Grande. The MLB DFS Show will give you an initial outlook on the day's MLB DFS slate and should give you a good base for the start of your research each day!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have a good main slate in terms of pitching today.  There is a plethora of pitching options with upside in every price range.  

High-end options include Jesus Luzardo and Tarik Skubal.  The mid-range is loaded with upside options in Robbie Ray, Kodai Senga and Sonny Gray.  Pay down options include Walker Buehler and Edward Cabrera.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Jesus Luzardo, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $10,000 | FanDuel $10,800

Luzardo is coming off back to back 10 strikeout games. He enters Saturday with 2.15 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 77 Ks in 67 IP.

Luzardo enters this matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers with good history but limited against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Brewers during the 2024 season.  He put up 48 FanDuel points and 28.2 DraftKings points.  Look for Luzardo to continue his success against the Brewers on Saturday.

Robbie Ray, San Francisco Giants - DraftKings $9,000 | FanDuel $10,600

Ray has had a nice return to form after missing the majority of the 2023 and 2024 seasons due to injury.  He enters Saturday with 2.56 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 69 Ks in 63.1 IP.  He also has had 6 straight quality starts.

Ray enters this matchup against the Miami Marlins with very limited history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Marlins during the 2024 season.  However, Robbie Ray has arguably the safest and highest upside of any pitcher for today’s slate..

Kodai Senga, New York Mets - DraftKings $8,900 | FanDuel $10,200

Senga has returned to form after missing almost all of the 2024 season due to injury.  He enters Saturday with 1.46 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 52 Ks in 55.2 IP.  

He faces a Colorado Rockies lineup that he has fared well against in the past.  He did not pitch against the Rockies during the 2024 season.  Look for Senga to continue his strong start to the season on Saturday.  

Edward Cabrera - DraftKings $7,100 | FanDuel $8,000

Cabrera is coming off his best start of the season where he had 10 strikeouts against the Angels.  He enters Saturday with 4.76 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 43 Ks in 40 IP.  

Cabrera enters this matchup against the San Francisco Giants with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had two starts against the Giants during the 2024 season.  He put up 28 and 49 FanDuel points and 15.2 and 27.9 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Cabrera to be a value option with some upside.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is a good slate for hitters as we have a handful of teams with good past history in terms of hitters vs pitcher matchups.  We also have some teams in attractive matchups vs young, inexperienced pitchers.

Tampa Bay Rays, New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Zach Neto, Los Angeles Angels - DraftKings $5,600 | FanDuel $3,900

Neto has been solid since returning from the IL.  He has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games started.  He has 4 multi games and 3 HRs during that time span.

Neto is 2 for 2 with 1 HR against Slade Cecconi, the expected starting pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians.  Look for a strong performance out of Zach Neto and the Angels lineup on Saturday.

Brandon Nimmo, New York Mets - DraftKings $3,800 | FanDuel $2,800

Nimmo has had hit or miss start to the 2024 season.  He is currently on a 4 game hitting streak.  He has 2 multi hit games and 0 HRs during this stretch.

Nimmo is 2 for 8 with 2 HRs against Rockies expected starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela.  He looks like a key piece to a New York Mets stack for Saturday’s slate! 

Jose Altuve, Houston Astros - DraftKings $4,400 | FanDuel $3,100

Altuve has started to heat up as of late.  He has at least one hit in 6 of his last 8 games.  He has 4 multi hit games and 5 HRs during this time span.  

He has fared well against Rays expected starting pitcher Zack Littell in the past.  He is 6 for 10 against Littell in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Altuve on Saturday!

Pete Alonso, New York Mets - DraftKings $5,000 | FanDuel $4,100

Alonso has slowed down a little in recent weeks after his hot start to the season.  However, he is currently on a 6 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi hit game and 2 HRs during this stretch.

Alonso has good history in the past against expected Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela.  He is 4 for 11 against Senzatela in his career.  Look for a strong performance out of Pete Alonso and the Mets lineup on Saturday.
