College Basketball CBB DFS Picks 2/7

CBB DFS Top Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Tyree ApplebyWAKEUNC880034.03
When Wake faced UNC earlier this season, Appleby nearly led his squad to the win with 16 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and two steals for a strong 39 DK performance. That game was high-scoring and uptempo like tonight’s rematch should be. Appleby is averaging 17.5 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 games in a high-usage role for Wake. Though he’s a tad expensive, the upside for 40+ DK is there tonight.
Landers Nolley IICINCYTUL840030.45
There are a lot of positive indicators pointing in Nolley’s direction tonight. First off, he’s on a roll lately with 36+ DK in six of the last seven games and averaging 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 35 DK over the past 10 contests. Cincinnati gets a notable pace boost against Tulane tonight, which definitely benefits Nolley as a stat-stuffer. He had 23 points and 33 DK vs Tulane earlier this season. Oh yeah, he’s also performing better on the road with 18.3 points and 36 DK per game away compared to 14.8 points and 28 DK at home.
Jalen CookTULCINCY760033.54
Cook has been phenomenal all season but, in particular, lately for Tulane. The point guard is averaging 21.6 PPG and 39 DK over the past seven games and he has at least 20 points scored and 38 DK in five of those contests. He offers a strong DFS floor with a definite ceiling at his best. The price tag is pretty affordable compared to other high-priced guards tonight, and Cook could easily outperform any or all of them.
Damion BaughTCUKSU760029.34
With Mike Miles sidelined, Baugh has taken over the alpha offensive playmaker role for TCU. He’s put up 31, 40, and 32 DK over the last three games with Miles out, including an uptick in shot volume and offensive usage. Baugh was a good DFS option before, but his floor/ceiling combo is now a lot higher with him locked into this role in Miles’ absence. Don't overlook him in all formats in this higher-scoring matchup vs Kansas St.
Kihei ClarkUVNCST730026.42
Clark is never a flashy DFS play, but he’s been pretty reliable in cash this season with consistent production and stat-stuffing ability. That should be even more evident tonight in a huge pace-boost matchup for Virginia at home against NC State. This price tag is just affordable enough to lock in 25-30 DK or so in cash if you want a safe option.

Also Consider:

  • Markquis Nowell – Kansas State ($9100) – Cash/GPP
  • Tyler Kolek – Marquette ($8300) – Cash
  • RJ Davis – North Carolina ($7800) – GPP
  • Jalen Hood-Schifino – Indiana ($6800) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Guards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Jeremiah DavenportCINCYTUL550020
Davenport is coming off of the bench right now, but the senior still has the talent and upside to return value at this cheap tag. It’s actually his lowest price all season and the opportunity for 4x or 5x value is there in a pace-boost matchup tonight. Davenport had 10 points and 23 DK vs Tulane earlier this season and is averaging a solid 19.6 DK over the past 10 contests. This is a very affordable way to get exposure to one of the slate’s top totals.
Justin HillUGAMISS530015.54
Hill stepped into Georgia’s starting point guard role last game with Terry Roberts sidelined. He had a team-high 20 points and 34 DK on 13 shot attempts and a 31% usage rate with Roberts out. Even with a price increase tonight, Hill is a great upside value if he’s starting and Roberts is out again. Hill also had 20 DK vs Ole Miss earlier this season.
Sahvir WheelerUKARK490020.38
Though Wheeler returned to a bench role last game with Cason Wallace back, he still had 19 DK in 25 minutes as a solid value for those that rostered him at $4500. The point guard gets a slight price increase now, but he’s still a decent GPP option at sub-5k. It’s impossible to fully trust Wheeler’s DFS production or real role for Kentucky right now. Still, the upside is there at his best and UK gets a notable pace boost vs Arkansas here.
Ali AliBUTLESTJN450011.6
Ali has very volatile DFS and real-life production but he’s still getting 25-30 minutes per game as a starter in Butler’s tight rotation. He’ll also be more important tonight if Chuck Harris sits out again. Butler will benefit from a pace boost vs St. John’s and Ali had 24 DK against them earlier this season. This sub-5k price tag is worth a hard look in cash or GPP for the 5x upside or better.

Also Consider:

  • AJ Storr – St. John's ($5800) – GPP
  • Isaac McKneely – Virginia ($4700) – Cash
  • Cam Carter – Kansas State ($4000) – GPP

CBB DFS Top Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Joel SorianoSTJNBUTLE890035.32
Butler is a terrible rebounding team and allows a ton of opposing points inside. That sets up perfectly for Soriano, who had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 42 DK against Butler last month. This is a great bounce-back spot for a guy that hasn’t been playing up to his potential the past two games. We should see Soriano return to his normal 35-40 DK production tonight and he'll likely go overlooked compared to other top-tier forwards.
Johni BroomeAUBTA&M870033.3
Outside of a couple of duds, Broome has been as consistent as it gets for high-priced forwards this season. In a high-usage role for Auburn, the big man has at least 32 DK in five straight and in 10 of the last 12 contests. He’s also averaging 14.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.4 blocks, and 35 DK over the past 10 games. Broome had success against Texas A&M last month with 16 points, seven boards, seven blocks, and 37 DK.
Keyontae JohnsonKSUTCU820033.26
Since Johnson “only” had 21 DK last game, people may wrongfully overlook him tonight. Expect a big bounce-back performance for both Johnson and Kansas State in this revenge spot at home vs TCU. We should see Johnson get back to his regular 35-40 DK production and anchor cash lineups like he’s done. This is actually his cheapest price tag since mid-November, so take advantage while you still can. He had 18 points, nine rebounds, and 34 DK vs TCU earlier this season.
Oso IghodaroMARQUCONN750029.56
If you want a lower-rostered GPP play, Ighodaro might be your guy. People will likely overlook him on the road against UConn and having to go up against Adama Sanogo. Still, we saw Ighodaro put up 19 points and 32 DK in this matchup earlier this season. That DFS upside is there again tonight if the Marquette big man can stay out of foul trouble.

Also Consider:

  • Trayce Jackson-Davis – Indiana ($11,200) – GPP
  • Oscar Tshiebwe – Kentucky ($10,100) – GPP
  • Adama Sanogo – UConn ($8600) – GPP

CBB DFS Value Forwards

PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPG
Jakobe ColesTCUKSU500017.36
Coles has 20+ DK in each of the last three games while playing a bigger role with Eddie Lampkin out. You can also consider Chuck O’Bannon at $5300 as he’s also benefiting from Lampkin’s absence. Coles, though, is a tad cheaper for similar or better DFS production. He’s a decent salary-saver for the 4x return or better in cash, and he had 19 DK vs Kansas State earlier this season.
Aundre HyattRUIU490018.01
Out of necessity, Hyatt should play a lot more tonight with Mawot Mag out. Hyatt’s bigger body will be needed to guard Indiana’s power forward combo of Race Thompson and Malik Reneau while Cliff Omoruyi deals with Trayce Jackson-Davis. We also saw Hyatt have 11 points and 18 DK against Indiana earlier this season. He could post 20-25 DK this time around with the uptick in playing time and role.
Tylan PopeTULCINCY480016.89
Pope had been a solid reserve player for Tulane this season, but he’s now in a much bigger role and has started the past two games. Pope has logged 27+ minutes in four straight and has 21+ DK in each game. He was in the starting lineup for the past two games and had 30 and 25 DK. This is a great bargain for that 5x upside or better and exposure to one of the higher-scoring games on the slate.
O'Mar StanleySTJNBUTLE36009.74
Stanley played a bigger role for St. John’s last game with David Jones out. He logged 23 minutes at the power forward spot, his most playing time since November. Though he only put up 12 DK, the opportunity is there to outperform this very cheap price tag while Jones remains out. It’s definitely risky on the road in a pace-down spot, but Stanley is worth a GPP dart throw.

Also Consider:

  • David Joplin – Marquette ($5600) – Cash
  • Chuck O'Bannon – TCU ($5300) – GPP
  • Malik Hall – Michigan State ($5100) – Cash/GPP
  • Malik Reneau – Indiana ($4500) – GPP
  • Bobi Klintman – Wake Forest ($4100) – GPP
