College Basketball CBB DFS Picks
CBB DFS Top Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Jamal Shead | UH | CINCY | 8600 | 32.47 | ||
| Jamal Shead has been a cash stud all season and he’s playing at a high level level lately. The Houston point guard has 55, 46, and 35 DK in the past three games and he’s averaging 16.8 points with a stat-stuffing 35 DK over the past 10 games. Shead had 30 DK on the road at Cincy recently and now gets the home rematch. Expect him to fill the stat sheet with a strong cash performance once again. | ||||||
| Markus Burton | ND | WAKE | 8100 | 30.2 | ||
| On the DK slate, we get Notre Dame hosting Wake Forest and it puts Markus Burton firmly on our radar. Win or lose, the Irish point guard is filling up the stat sheet on a consistent basis as the offense revolves around him. He boasts the ACC’s highest usage and shot rates during conference play as he’s averaging 17.5 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 steals, and 33 DK over the past 10 games. This is a home pace-boost matchup too, and Burton should not go overlooked as a safe cash play. | ||||||
| Judah Mintz | SYR | VT | 7900 | 32.4 | 8200 | 30.84 |
| The Virginia Tech-Syracuse matchup has one of the higher totals on the slate and Judah Mintz should be plenty involved in the scoring. Mintz has a strong cash floor with his high-usage role, averaging 18.9 PPG and 32 DK over the past 10 games. His shooting, scoring, and overall DFS production are also higher at home this season. Mintz may go overlooked tonight but he’s a solid cash guard. | ||||||
| Johnny Furphy | KU | BYU | 6900 | 18.81 | 6600 | 17.73 |
| After a slow start to the season, Johnny Furphy has been playing at a much higher level for over a month now. He’s also a lot more important to Kansas on both ends with Kevin McCullar sidelined. Furphy is averaging 13.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 28 DK over the past 10 games. He also has 30+ DK in four of the past six coming into tonight. We have to look at Furphy in a different light right now and he’s firmly in play for all formats with McCullar likely out again. | ||||||
| Max Abmas | UT | TTU | 6800 | 28.79 | 6500 | 26.06 |
| Max Abmas has been cold lately, but it creates a buy-low opportunity with him priced below 7k on both sites. Abmas has now scored single-digit points and less than 20 DK in three straight games. That’s not ideal, but he can easily wake up for 20+ points and 30+ DK tonight and would be a bargain at his discounted prices. Abmas had 18 points and 32 DK vs Texas Tech earlier this year. Tech’s 3-point defense is 2nd-worst in the Big 12 and Abmas can get going from deep in this spot. | ||||||
| Josh Hubbard | MSST | UK | 6700 | 22.71 | 6000 | 20.91 |
| Mississippi State gets a notable pace-boost home matchup tonight against Kentucky’s shaky defense. It gives Josh Hubbard more GPP upside to play up to his ceiling if he gets hot from three. The freshman guard takes a ton of threes per game and he just drained 6-for-12 from deep with 32 points vs LSU over the weekend. Hubbard is impossible to trust in cash, but he does have DK outputs of 37, 28, 30, 40, and 34 over the past month when he’s on. | ||||||
CBB DFS Value Guards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Joe Toussaint | TTU | UT | 6200 | 24.02 | 5800 | 22.25 |
| Joe Toussaint is the classic boom-or-bust GPP play. The Texas Tech point guard offers a decent floor of assists and ancillary stats, but his scoring is so inconsistent. When Toussaint scores double-digit points, his GPP upside rises a ton to where he can exceed value at these affordable prices. He did against Texas earlier this year when he had 15 points and 31 DK. Kerwin Walton is also an upside value for Tech tonight. | ||||||
| L.J. Cryer | UH | CINCY | 5900 | 24.31 | ||
| When L.J. Cryer is at his best and hitting threes, he’ll exceed value when he’s priced below 6k on the DK slate. He’s done it in two of the past three games with 26 points/30 DK and 15 points/26 DK vs Texas and Baylor, respectively. Cryer also had 30+ DK in a few other conference games when his shot was falling. He’s hard to trust in cash, but the GPP upside is there while we’re getting a discount. | ||||||
| Justin Edwards | UK | MSST | 5800 | 16.77 | 4600 | 15.71 |
| Justin Edwards has underwhelmed all season but just exploded for 28 points and 43 DK last game. He shot 10-for-10 from the field, including 4-for-4 from three, while being a big part of the Kentucky offense. Maybe this gets the stud freshman going and he can carry it into tonight? It’s a big question mark if we start seeing better games from the guy who was previously projected to go No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft. It’s a tougher road matchup this time, but Edwards is worth consideration in GPPs now. | ||||||
| Trevin Knell | BYU | KU | 5600 | 20.13 | 4900 | 18.52 |
| Trevin Knell is coming off one of his worst games of the season, which will likely have most ignoring him tonight. However, there’s GPP upside for the BYU shooting guard. Knell had scored double-digit points in four straight before busting over the weekend. He is BYU’s best 3-point shooter and Kansas has issues defending the three. It’s a tough road matchup but Knell has the potential to exceed value. | ||||||
| Max Klesmit | WISC | IU | 5200 | 16.11 | 4400 | 14.60 |
| Despite putting up 21 DK in back-to-back games, Max Klesmit is still pretty affordable on both sites tonight. The Wisconsin shooting guard is a volatile DFS option, but he can return value at his best in easier matchups. Indiana’s defense has struggled over the past month and Klesmit is shooting 40% from three in conference play. When Wisconsin faced IU earlier this season, he went off for 26 points and 34 DK. | ||||||
| Nicolas Timberlake | KU | BYU | 4400 | 8.07 | 4100 | 7.50 |
| If Kevin McCullar is out again tonight, then Nick Timberlake should get another start as an excellent value below 5k on both sites. He’s started and played 30+ minutes in three of the past four games with McCullar sidelined, a trend we should see continue here. In four games without McCullar, Timberlake is averaging 18.5 DK points with a notable uptick in minutes and overall production. He also has added confidence with 13 points scored in two straight starts without McCullar. | ||||||
CBB DFS Top Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Hunter Dickinson | KU | BYU | 8900 | 39.82 | 8800 | 36.80 |
| Hunter Dickinson has mostly been a reliable cash forward this season and he’s currently locked into higher offensive usage and shot volume while Kevin McCullar is sidelined. Dickinson is averaging 16.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 35 DK over the past 10 games but has the upside for 20+ points scored and 40-50 DFS points at his best. BYU is 12th in defense during conference play and is usually worse on the road. It’s a good spot for Dickinson to anchor cash lineups. | ||||||
| Dylan Disu | UT | TTU | 8400 | 30.32 | 7700 | 28.10 |
| Dylan Disu is coming off his worst game in a while after scoring just 8 points with 18 DK at Kansas. Before that, though, Disu was rolling with 15+ points scored and/or 30+ DK in eight of nine games. He’s still averaging 18.5 PPG and 35 DK over the past 10 contests and can get back to that level against a shaky Texas Tech defense tonight – even on the road. Disu may be better suited for GPP lineups but he’s a nice upside play at a slight discount than normal. | ||||||
| Payton Sandfort | IOWA | PSU | 8000 | 30.11 | 7800 | 27.70 |
| Ironically, Payton Sandfort busted for just 8 points and 11 DK when Iowa faced Penn State earlier this month. Since then, though, Sandfort is averaging 18.4 PPG and 33 DK while getting back to his productive role in Iowa’s fast-paced, high-scoring attack. In the highest total of this slate, Sandfort should be plenty involved in the scoring and is a top overall play with his strong floor of shot volume and offensive usage for the Hawkeyes. | ||||||
| Maliq Brown | SYR | VT | 7700 | 26.31 | 6700 | 25.19 |
| Maliq Brown’s real-life and DFS production have been up-and-down all season, but he gets a favorable matchup at home tonight for a potential ceiling game. Virginia Tech has weak inside defense and struggles to rebound. Brown can have success scoring in the paint and on the boards in this spot. He also has the upside to fill the stat sheet in multiple ways when Cuse plays in higher-scoring games. Brown is averaging 34 DK over the past six games and can be on the top end of that tonight considering the matchup. | ||||||
| Tolu Smith | MSST | UK | 7600 | 30.4 | 7600 | 28.13 |
| When Mississippi State faced Kentucky last month, Tolu Smith was excellent with 26 points and 41 DK. He took full advantage of UK’s inconsistent interior defense and can do it again tonight in the home pace-boost rematch. Smith is averaging 15.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 30 DK over the past 10 games and is playing well lately with 24 points/32 DK and 19 points/37 DK in the past two. He’s a bit up-and-down to roster in cash but can play up to his ceiling tonight. | ||||||
CBB DFS Value Forwards
| Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG |
| Chris Bell | SYR | VT | 7100 | 19.13 | 5300 | 17.02 |
| First off, Chris Bell is not a value on the DK slate and is only a GPP upside play there. On FD, though, he’s way underpriced for how well he’s playing. Bell is averaging 18.2 PPG and 27 FD points over the past six games while shooting 59% from three in this stretch. His shot volume and offensive role have increased lately and he’s lighting it up from deep. Bell shouldn’t be this cheap on FD and is a clear value tonight in a higher-total home matchup. | ||||||
| Zach Hicks | PSU | IOWA | 6400 | 17.18 | 5500 | 15.56 |
| Similar to Chris Bell above, Zach Hicks isn’t exactly a value on DK but he’s still underpriced on FD. Hicks has been in these playbooks a lot lately and we’ll keep riding him until he stops producing. He’s now scored 13+ points in seven straight games while averaging 15 PPG and 28 DK over this stretch since becoming a bigger part of Penn State’s offense. This shouldn’t change since it’s coincided with Kanye Clary leaving the team. Now tonight gives Hicks a pace-boost matchup in a high-scoring game. | ||||||
| Tyler Nickel | VT | SYR | 5700 | 16.06 | 4900 | 14.65 |
| Tyler Nickel is coming off a scoreless game on Saturday, which may have people looking elsewhere tonight. However, he can bounce back tonight in a pace-boost matchup and higher-total game flow. Nickel had scored double-digit points with 23-28 DK in three straight before that dud and can get back to that level here. Despite coming off the bench, Nickel is playing 25-30 minutes in VT’s rotation lately – which is a good sign anyway. | ||||||
| Eemeli Yalaho | TTU | UT | 3100 | 2.41 | 3300 | 2.05 |
| Despite barely cracking the Texas Tech rotation all season, Eemeli Yalaho saw 17 minutes off the bench last game. The freshman had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 18 DK, and 2-for-2 from three-point range in the limited playing time. He played more with Chance McMillan out and Warren Washington still limited, so we’ll see if that continues. If it does, Yalaho is worth a GPP dart at his near-min price tags. | ||||||
