If anything has been clear this season in MLB DFS, it’s that value is key to winning lineups and capitalizing on those low-cost plays is how you pack that one more premier player into your builds. The Dodgers continue to be the highest-priced lineup from top to bottom this year, for good reason, and there’s a game at Coors, though it has weather concerns, so let’s look at what value can be had on this eight-game main slate tonight.

DraftKings

Tanner Roark , RHP TOR ($6,800) - Roark had a 14:3 K:BB ratio in spring this year and he’s coming off a so-so year a season ago. The value here comes from the match-up though facing Texas and their 29.5-percent K-rate against RHP. They have quite a few lefties in their lineup and Roark was far better against left-handed hitters than right-handed hitters last year in the same number of innings. He posted 25 Ks in 23.2 innings and a .218 BAA and .327 wOBA versus LHH.

Mitch Haniger , OF SEA ($3,400) - Haniger has had a solid start to the year going 6-for-17 with a homer for a .353 AVG and a .450 wOBA. He fared even better against RHPs with a .490 wOBA in 13 at-bats and while Giolito was good against the Angels though he did give up a homer and Haniger has faced Giolito before, doing well though in a very small sample size. He’ll be a contrarian play.

David Peralta , OF ARI ($3,700) - Now this is only in play if the game at Coors happens tonight as there is pretty good chances of rain in the forecast. However, Peralta has seen Germán Márquez 38 times in his career and has 15 hits with two homers and eight RBI in those meetings and with the game in Coors, Marquez is far worse at home than outside of Coors.

FanDuel

Adbert Alzolay , RHP CHC ($6,200) - If you read the pitching coach today you’d have seen Alzolay listed in there. The Brewers have been swinging and missing quite a bit this year and Alzolay struck out 33.3-percent of hitters in 21.1 innings last year in the majors. None of the current Brewers’ hitters have seen Alzolay pitch yet either so he has the advantage for a couple of at-bats as well.

Alex Dickerson , OF SF ($2,600) - The match-up is tough as they face Darvish on the bump tonight and thus the price is reduced, not to mention that the offense for the Giants hasn’t been anything close to good this year. Dickerson though, is 3-for-6 with a homer off of Darvish in their recent meetings and Darvish did have issues with left-handed hitters with a far lower K/9 rate, a higher BB/9 rate, and more than twice the HR/9 rate not to mention his FIP against LHHs was 3.02 compared to 0.98 against RHHs.

Mike Brosseau , 3B TB ($2,100) - Martín Pérez isn’t exactly the most intimidating southpaw to face on the mound and that’s borne out in Brosseau going 4-for-10 with a homer and three RBI off of him. Six of the eight homers that Perez allowed last year in just 62 innings came against RHHs and at home, Perez posted a 5.46 ERA compared to 3.52 on the road in the same amount of innings.

Both Sites

Ha-Seong Kim, 2B/SS SD ($2,700 DK, $2,100 FD) - Kim will get a shot at starting for a bit now with Fernando Tatis Jr. out for what is likely an extended period of time. Kim brings quite a lot of pop to his game from the KBO and the last time we saw Sanchez on a mound in 2019, he gave up 20 home runs in 131 innings for a 1.37 HR/9 rate and a 5.89 ERA (5.25 FIP) and nearly five walks a game. At close to min price on both sites, why not take the shot on Kim?

Michael Conforto , OF NYM ($3,700 DK, $3,200 FD) - Conforto only has three hits against Chase Anderson in 13 at-bats, but all three of them have left the yard for a .500 wOBA with five RBI. Anderson hasn’t exactly been a lock down arm in the majors and while the Mets’ offense didn’t exactly show up in Game 1, we’re back on the saddle with Conforto who has the power upside every time he steps into the box.

Raimel Tapia , OF COL ($3,400 on both sites) - Tapia, just like Peralta, is in play if the game happens. The Rockies’ lead-off hitter is 4-for-7 off of Luke Weaver in their meetings. In four prior starts at Coors Field, Weaver has a 7.62 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP and has only lasted 13 innings total. Tapia can steal bags too and Carson Kelly isn’t generally known as a guy who throws a ton of runners out.
