Bargain-hunting in DFS is turning into one of the weirdest exercises these days. Everyone on Draft Kings is so crazy over-priced that there are hardly any players under $3,000 worth using. That means those bargains end up being the chalk. Meanwhile, everyone on FanDuel is so crazy underpriced right now, that it’s easy for everyone to lock down Mike Trout , Ronald Acuna and a few other superstars into their lineups without batting an eye. There’s no reason to fade them these days.

Perhaps this will change the further we move into the season, but probably not until their whales complain about how they aren’t making enough money at our expense each week.

Nevertheless, let’s get to today’s Vault.

Both Sites:

Jeff Hoffman , SP CIN ($7,700 FD/$6,900 DK) – The talent level has always been high. The problem was that it was always stuck in Colorado. Not that Great American Smallpark is any better, but there’s just a different vibe on this team and no one has this defeatist’s attitude that no one can pitch there. But that’s not even where we are tonight. Hello, Arizona and hello, humidor. Hoffman should have no real added concerns regarding his fly-ball rate and the D-Backs are posting a dismal .273 wOBA against right-handed pitching.

Cedric Mullins , OF BAL ($3,300 FD/$3,900 DK) – He’s seeing the ball real well right now and he’s crushing right-handed pitching with a .515 wOBA and 1.213 OPS thus far. The Red Sox are throwing Garrett Richards tonight and anyone who has seen this dude pitch knows just how bad he looks right now. Mullins is going to take advantage and should produce strong numbers.

Jurickson Profar , 2B/OF ($2,500 FD/$3,200 DK) – We’ll see how the Padres respond as a whole after last night’s no-hitter, but often times, it serves as a catalyst for a struggling team. Their bats stayed fairly quiet against the Rangers bullpen, but you should expect them to heat up tonight. Profar bats second in the order and matches up beautifully against right-hander Jordan Lyles , against whom he is 3-for-5 with two RBI.

FanDuel:

Didi Gregorius , SS PHI ($2,600) – Gregorius has now hit safely in seven-straight games, but with only one home runs and two RBI, FanDuel hasn’t priced him up. The lack of production is going to correct itself and Gregorius should find his way into some extra-base hits and run production soon. Like tonight, perhaps, give then match-up against Ian Anderson . Gregorius has a .390 wOBA with a .926 OPS against righties this season.

Xander Bogaerts , SS BOS ($3,100) – If you’re going to use Gregorius, think about using Bogaerts as your utility man tonight. He’s smacking around left-handed pitching once again and has posted a .368 wOBA with an .829 OPS against them. He had gone 8-for-12 in the three games prior to his days off Thursday and Friday, so he’s ready to get back at it.

Draft Kings:

Tucker Barnhart , C CIN ($3,100) – Yes, we’re going back to the well again tonight as Barnhart, like the rest of the Reds, is seeing the ball really well and should have little trouble with Arizona lefty Riley Smith. He’s now hit safely in four-straight games with back-to-back multi-hit performances and should be able to carry that momentum into tonight’s action.
