After opening with 68-68-69, the World No. 11 began T5, four back. Playing out of the fourth-to-last twosome and making his tournament debut, World No. 14 Viktor Hovland styled a 5-under-par 32-35=67 in the final round of the WGC-Workday at The Concession to conclude on 15-under 273, up five spots into a three-way T2, three adrift of overnight leader and champion Collin Morikawa (69).

There were 18 debutants at the Workday and the 23-year-old was the only one to finish in the top 10. Overall, this was his second WGC after a T59 at last season's FedEx St. Jude Invitational, and claims his fourth top 10 of the season in nine starts, including a win, and two runners-up. The Norwegian, who arrived off a T2 at the Farmers and T5 at last week's Genesis, now owns eight career top-10 finishes with five of those top 3s. Ted Potter, Jr. pieced together a 3-under-par 34-35=69 during round four of the Puerto Rico Open, sealing a T7 finish with a four-day tally of 14-under 274.

TPJ had the scoring machine fired up all week as he accumulated 20 birdies (T8) and an eagle (T5) which easily erased an eight-pack of bogeys. Steady iron play was the name of the game as he pelted 53 greens on the week which is 17th-best in the field. This will be Potter's first top 15 since last year's Puerto Rico Open (T6). Playing out of the final twosome, overnight leader and World No. 6 Collin Morikawa navigated a 3-under-par 34-35=69 in the final round of the World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession for a 72-hole tally of 18-under 270, good for a three-shot triumph over runners-up Viktor Hovland (67), Brooks Koepka (70), and playing competitor Billy Horschel (70).

The 24-year-old, a pre-tourney 40/1 outright and 8/5 fave entering the finale, claims his fourth PGA TOUR title in 41 events (39 pro). It's his first since last season's PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in his home state of California 12 starts ago, where he bagged his first major in just his second major start and PGA debut. The Los Angeles native, who improves to 1-for-2 as a 54-hole leader/co-leader, now adds a WGC trophy to his mantel in just his third WGC event, brushing aside a prior-best T20 at last season's FedEx St. Jude in his WGC debut. After kicking off with 70, day- and week-tying-low 64, and 67, he began with a two-shot lead over Horschel and Koepka. On 13 (of 14) fairways and 13 greens in regulation, the UC-Berkeley alum lost 1.510 strokes around-the-green but gained 1.795 off-the-tee and 1.282 on approach. He squared a lone bogey-5 at hole 2 (failed scramble), outflanked by four birdies at 5, 7, 9 and 12, each from between six and 12 feet. Morikawa registered 1.692 putts per GIR and 1.841 SG: Putting with 27 total putts, buoyed by two par-savers from between 10 and 13 feet. For the week, he tallied 27 birdies against seven bogeys and one double, and ranked No. 1 in Total Birdies, SG: Approach (9.544) and SG: Tee-to-Green (12.526), and 10th in SG: Putting (3.952).

Rob Oppenheim delivered a 5-under-par 34-33=67 on Sunday at the Puerto Rico Open, ending the week on 14-under 274 which was good for a T7 finish alongside Brandon Wu, Cameron Percy, and Ted Potter, Jr.

Oppenheim steadied 10-of-14 fairways today which was the story for him all week other than round one (5 fairways). His steady off-the-tee play helped him set up six birdies and an eagle while also swallowing a trio of bogeys. It was a high-risk, high-reward type of day as Oppenheim knew he needed something special to catapult himself into contention. The highlight of his round was a chip-in eagle at the par-5 15th. The 41-year-old is building a strong record at Grand Reserve Country Club as he's now posted back-to-back top 10s (T9 last year) at the PRO after missing the cut in his 2016 debut. Those account for two of his four career top 10s on the PGA TOUR.

Jhonattan Vegas applied a lot of pressure to the top of the leaderboard with his closing 7-under-par 31-34=65 at the Puerto Rico Open, to reach 18-under 270 for the week, but ended up one shot behind the eventual winner, Branden Grace.

On a day where the leaders were sitting in neutral, Vegas put his foot on the gas early with birdies in four of his opening five holes. He added three more around the turn (9, 10, and 12) then traded a bogey at 14 with a closing birdie at the par-5 18th. Vegas matched the low round of the day (Brice Garnett, Emiliano Grillo) but it was one shot shy thanks to some bunker magic down the stretch from Branden Grace (eagle-birdie finish). This will go in the books as Vegas' first top 10 since last year's Puerto Rico Open (T9). It's also his eighth career podium finish (first runner-up finish). It also sets him up nicely to make a run at the FedExCup Playoffs since he started the week at 160th but currently jumps to 68th in the projected standings (before the WGC results are finalized).
