The Syracuse Crunch have re-signed defenseman Devante Stephens to a one-year contract.

Stephens just completed his three-year, entry level deal he signed with Buffalo in 2017 after being selected in the fifth round of the 2015 Draft. He was traded to Tampa Bay exactly a year ago today and had six assists in 38 AHL games after playing most of the previous two seasons in the ECHL. The Lightning did not qualify Stephens but he returns to the organization, albeit with the Crunch.

Shea Theodore posted a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes.

Theodore finished with a plus-1 rating, four shots on goal and a blocked shot in his 21:12 of ice time across 26 shifts. The 25-year-old rearguard from British Columbia has now recorded at least one point in three of his four outings, totaling two goals and four points. Theodore is among the top three or four defensemen in Vegas, a team with an embarrassment of riches in the back end with Alec Martinez, Alex Pietrangelo, etc. He'll look to stay hot in the front end of a double dip starting Friday in Arizona.

Alex Tuch picked up one goal and two assists in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the visiting Arizona Coyotes.

Tuch also ended up with a plus-1 rating, four shots on goal, a blocked shot, a minor penalty and a hit to make his fantasy owners and DFS players smile. It was his first multi-point showing of the season, and first points at all since the regular-season opener Jan. 14 against the Anaheim Ducks. He'll look to carry over the momentum in another back-to-back set against the Coyotes starting Friday night in Arizona.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced in Wednesday's 5-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes.

Fleury wasn't tested very often, and the offense more than provided enough support. He and Robin Lehner continue to alternate in the Vegas cage, and each goaltender has picked up two wins in the team's red-hot 4-0-0 start. The good times will look to continue to roll for two more games against the Coyotes, starting Friday in Arizona. Look for Fleury to get the starting nod in Sunday's tilt if the rotation continues.

Nick Schmaltz scored his second goal of the season in Wednesday's 5-2 road loss against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Coyotes took a couple of beatings in Nevada, but Schmaltz acquitted himself with with a power-play goal in Monday's 4-2 loss and then this marker Wednesday. While many of the other Arizona players and their fantasy owners might not be looking ahead to Friday and Sunday, when the Golden Knights travel to Arizona to continue their four-game scheduled set, Schmaltz is brimming with confidence vs. VGK. He is an interesting DFS play while running hot.

Darcy Kuemper coughed up five goals on just 29 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 road loss against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Kuemper isn't the first person to hop on a plane leaving Vegas after taking a beating. He allowed eight goals on just 56 shots in his two losses Monday and Wednesday against VGK, and he is now just 0-2-1 with a 3.63 goals-against average and .879 save percentage. Fantasy owners shouldn't press the panic button on Kuemper just yet, and see him blossom with another team. Unfortunately for Kuemper and the Coyotes, Vegas now comes to Arizona for a two-game set starting Friday night in the desert.

J.T. Miller posted three assists in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout victory against the Montreal Canadiens.

Miller missed the first three games while on the NHL's COVID Protocol Related Absence list. He made his debut Monday with an assist in Calgary, but he really looked to be 100 percent in this one. Miller posted 27 goals and 72 points across 69 games last season, and he is off to a good start as he tries to improve upon those numbers. Miller will look to keep up the good work in the second end of the double dip Thursday against the Habs.

Bo Horvat potted two goals while adding an assist in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout victory against the Montreal Canadiens.

Horvat opened the scoring at 11:07 of the first period with a power-play marker, assisted by J.T. Miller and Quinn Hughes, and he did it again on the man advantage, combining with Miller and Brock Boeser. Despite the three-point game he ended up a minus-2 rating, but fantasy owners can't complain too vehemently. The 23-year-old had three straight scoreless games since his two-goal effort in Edmonton Jan. 13 to open the season.

Brock Boeser scored two goals with an assist in Wednesday's wild 6-5 victory in a shootout over the Montreal Canadiens.

Boeser lit the lamp on the power play midway through the second period to give his team a brief 3-2 lead. He connected for his fourth goal of the season with just 3:09 to go in regulation, tying the game at 5-5 which forced the contest to overtime, a shootout and eventually two points for the home side. He was one of four Canucks to misfire during the shootout portion of the extra session. He'll look to stay hot Thursday in the second end of the twin bill in Vancouver.

Braden Holtby allowed five goals on 36 shots in Wednesday's wild 6-5 shootout victory against the Montreal Canadiens.

Holtby and Carey Price appeared to be primed for a goaltender's showdown at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, but the offenses for both sides had other ideas. Despite Tyler Toffoli's hat trick, Holtby was able to hang on into the extra session and pull out a win. Oddly enough it was Toffoli's miss in Round 4 of the shootout which tilted the game in favor of his former team. Holtby is likely to take a backseat to Thatcher Demko in the back end of the double dip on Thursday in Vancouver.

Kotkaniemi lit the lamp on an unassisted goal which tied the game 4-4 midway through the third period, and his helper came on the first of Tyler Toffoli's three goals early in the second. Kotkaniemi ended up with a plus-2 rating, two shots on goal, a minor penalty and a pair of hits in 13:20 of ice time across 20 shifts and he also won seven of his nine faceoff attempts (77.8 percent). He'll look to keep up the good work in the second end of the double dip in Vancouver on Thursday on NBCSN.

Price slips to 1-0-2 with a 3.50 goals-against average and .887 save percentage across the first three starts of the season. The bad news is that he has allowed five goals in two of his three outings, but the good news is that the Habs have enough offense to make up for when Price is having an off night. He wasn't necessarily bad in this one, it was just a wild game and sometimes it happens. The Habs are back at it Thursday night in Vancouver on NBCSN, and it's a good bet Jake Allen is in the crease.

Tyler Toffoli notched a hat trick in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout loss on the road against the Vancouver Canucks, his former team.

Toffoli entered the day with no goals, one power-play assist and a minus-1 rating across his first three games with his new team, but apparently seeing his former team across the way lit something within him. He is the third-ever Canadiens player to record a hatty on the road against Vancouver, joining Frank Mahovlich (Oct. 22, 1971) and Guy LaFleur (Dec. 17, 1971). Not bad company, eh? Toffoli will look to carry the momentum into the second end of the back-to-back Thursday in Vancouver.
