R. Strome - F
Strome was flipped by the Oilers to New York in a swap for Ryan Spooner on Friday.
Strome has a mere two points in 18 outings this season, despite playing 14:25 of ice time per game. The center was seeing time on the power play with the Rangers, but has zero points to show for it. If Strome gets a top-six assignment with Chris Kreider and Vladislav Namestnikov, he could quickly find his way out of his season-long slump.

R. Spooner - LW
Spooner was brought in by the Oilers from the Rangers in exchange for Ryan Strome on Friday.
This move essentially is meant to rebuild confidence in two players who were struggling on their respective teams and could benefit from a change of scenery. In 16 outings this year, Spooner was limited to a mere two points, despite averaging 12:41 of ice time that includes 1:43 on the power play.

D. Kuemper - G
Kuemper will patrol the crease in Saturday's home game against the Bruins, Craig Morgan of The Athleticreports.
Kuemper was razor sharp in his last start Thursday against the Predators, turning aside 45 of 46 shots en route to an impressive 2-1 win. The 28-year-old netminder will look to keep rolling and secure his fifth victory of the campaign in a home matchup with a Bruins team that's 3-4-2 on the road this season.

D. Dube - F
Dube (concussion) is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Oilers, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Dube has missed the Flames' last four games due to a concussion, but it appears as though the 20-year-old pivot is now back to 100 percent. He'll likely return to a bottom-six role against Edmonton.

S. Crosby - F
Crosby (upper body) skated ahead of Friday's practice session, but didn't join his teammates on the ice, Michelle Crechiolo of Pens Inside Scoop reports.
Coach Mike Sullivan originally told reporters he felt Crosby would be out for a week, so it seems unlikely he will be ready to go against Ottawa on Saturday. Prior to getting hurt, the Cole Harbour native notched five points in three outings. The Pens may get Derick Brassard (lower body) back for Saturday's matchup, which would help bolter their center depth with Sid the Kid sidelined.

S. Vatanen - D
Vatanen (lower body) will be evaluated Friday to determine whether he can play against the Red Wings on Saturday, Chris Ryan of the Star Ledger reports.
Vatanen logged just 9:14 of ice time before being forced out of Thursday's matchup with the Flyers. Prior to getting hurt, the blueliner was stuck in a seven-game goal drought during which he tallied a lone helper. If Vatanen is unable to give it a go, Egor Yakovlev could appear in his second NHL game.

P. Eaves - F
Eaves is dealing with back spasms, but could return to action for Sunday's clash with Colorado, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports.
After being placed on IR, Sunday is the earliest Eaves was eligible to be activated anyway. The winger has been plagued by injuries the last few seasons and has been limited to just five game in 2018-19. In fact, the veteran has registered a point in more than a calendar year, with his last one a goal Oct. 11, 2017 against the Islanders.

T. Hertl - F
Hertl (lower body) will "probably not" be available versus St. Louis on Saturday according to coach Peter DeBoer, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.
Hertl is slated to miss his fifth game in the Sharks' previous seven contests due to multiple injuries. The winger is currently on a point per game pace in his 16 outings while averaging 17:57 of ice time. Marcus Sorensen figures to continue slotting into a top-six role with Hertl sidelined.
