Chris Thorburn has officially announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Thorburn played 14 seasons in the NHL, appearing in 801 total games between Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Winnipeg, and St. Louis. He was part of the Blues' Stanley Cup championship team in 2019. "Thank you to everyone who supported me, believed in me, and influenced me throughout my hockey career," the 37-year-old wrote in a statement Monday. "The Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues all took a chance on me and for that I am forever grateful. To finish my hockey career with the St. Louis Blues and finally get an opportunity to lift the Stanley Cup over my head, I could not have scripted a better way to go out." Jun 22 1:35 pm (EST)
