Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Jose Berrios "couldn't look any better" after he threw his first simulated game Friday at Target Field.
"He looks like a bulldog," added Baldelli, before noting that Berrios hit 95-96 mph in the first inning of the sim. The 26-year-old right-hander delivered a 14-8 record, 3.68 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 195/51 K/BB ratio over a career-high 200 1/3 innings in 2019 and looks poised to be the Opening Day starter later this month for the defending American League Central champions.
