Gustave underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Wednesday and has been ruled out for the season, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Given the nature of the procedure, Gustave will likely still be rehabbing the injury by the time spring training arrives and may not be back to full strength until the middle of the 2018 season or later.
