Thank God It’s Friday. Not because it is the end of the work week—though that doesn’t hurt—but because we are back with our DraftEasy picks. With the NBA on an interminable two-day break, we again turn to MLB for our DraftEasy fix. This week, we are looking at two 2X Over/Under – Pick 3/4 contests. Be aware that if you prefer the 5X pick 4/4, the over/unders may be different. I will probably switch to the 5X contests as some point, but after both of my 2X entries cashed last week, I thought it made sense to stick with what works. If you have any questions about other contests or general DraftEasy strategy, please ask in the comments below, on Twitter, or in the FANation chat.

LAD @ WSH

Max Scherzer 6.5 K: OVER

For all of their struggles as a team, the Dodgers’ hitters rank 11th in K-rate at 21.8 percent. That being said, Scherzer has at least seven strikeouts in every game this season, including nine against the Dodgers last month.

Ross Stripling 4.5 HA: OVER

Stripling has three starts this season, and he allowed more than four hits in two of them. While the Nationals have a reputation as a fearsome lineup, they are 18th in MLB in batting average at .245. Stripling was limited to 4.0 innings in his first two starts of the season, but with the way the Dodgers’ bullpen has struggled, I think he will be asked to go deeper into this game, which could lead to more hits.

Justin Turner 0.5 H: OVER

Turner is 6-for-13 since coming off the disabled list, with at least one hit in each game. This would be an easy call in just about any other matchup, but even if Scherzer is dominant, Turner could get a hit against the Nationals’ bullpen.

Joc Pederson 0.5 R+RBI: UNDER

Pederson has 12 runs and 14 RBI on the season, and he has recorded at least one of those in just four of his last 11 games. I wouldn’t like his chances even if this was a strong matchup.

MIL @ MIN

Kyle Gibson 2.5 ER: UNDER

Gibson has allowed 3+ earned runs in three of his eight starts this season and just one of his last four. The Brewers are pretty average against right-handed pitching, and I believe Gibson will continue his string of strong pitching performances.

Brent Suter 1.5 BB: UNDER

Suter has allowed more than one walk in just one of his seven starts this season. The Twins rank 12th in MLB in walk rate. You could certainly argue Suter is due to walk a couple of batters, but his career walk rate is 5.8 percent compared to 4.9 percent this season.

Lorenzo Cain 0.5 H: OVER

Cain has at least one hit in seven of his last 11 games, though he did go hitless in two of his last three. For as good as Kyle Gibson has been, he does allow some hits, and Minnesota’s bullpen is not scary.

Brian Dozier 1.5 TB: OVER

Dozier has gone under 1.5 TB in each of his last five games. That being said, he has a .361 wOBA against lefties this season and a .377 wOBA against them for his career.
