It’s Saturday, so you guessed it, I’m back on Playbook/Rankings/Optimals duties as we gear up for today’s 15 game split slate. The split slate will feature a six game early slate followed by a nine game late slate. If you’re playing on FanDuel, keep in mind that they will not be including the Astros/Rays game in their early slate contests. The early slate is pretty interesting because it features a few question marks. Miguel Cabrera left last night’s game with a groin strain. He would have a great matchup against Adalberto Mejia; however, I’m not even going to bother listing him in the Rankings/Playbook because it seems pretty doubtful he’ll be in there. There’s also Jacob deGrom who had his Friday start pushed back to Saturday. He doesn’t exactly have the best matchup today against the Nationals and now there’s the added drama with his neck issue.

It does look like weather will have an impact on some of the east coast games. It looks like there could some showers making their rounds in Cincinnati right around the time of the scheduled first pitch, which puts some of the pitching at a higher risk than usual. There will also definitely be showers in Baltimore, but it’s something that will likely clear up before the first pitch. Be sure to keep an eye on any potential developments.
