We are giving you the Monday-Thursday DFS NFL breakdown and optimal lineups for FREE this week but please note that this is something that is usually ONLY for DFS Playbook subscribers.

This week we don't have Monday-Thursday contests but instead get a one day DFS NFL slate with just the two Monday night football games to sort through. For those of you who are new to the small slate DFS NFL contests, these are an absolute crapshoot. Sure you can still win decent money but you absolutely have to be different...WAY different if you are to stand out with just two games to select from. Thus, you will find some real strange players listed as optimal lineup qualifiers for these but that is only because we need to be contrarian.

I only play GPP's (tournaments) in small slates such as these. If your bankroll is hurting it is fine to roll with 50/50's but still know that the swings between paylines are huge.

This week I am loading up on the Redskins at home where Kirk Cousins shined last season. I expect ownership to be split between Cousins and Roethlisberger tonight and I will take the Redskins QB. I also divided up my shares of his receivers with Desean Jackson getting 100% and Pierre Garcon and Jordan Reed each receiving 50%. I like to use two of my QB's receivers in small slates like this.

Todd Gurley and DeAngelo Williams are no-brainers at the RB spots although Carlos Hyde is a good contrarican thought tonight even in this very tough matchup. Using players like Eli Rogers and Quinton Patton is not idea but as I say, in a two game slate you need to be different somehow. I think both players are in a good spot tonight.
