Below are stacks to consider for Wednesday’s MLB DFS action.

The Chalk

Oakland Athletics

As of this writing, the Red Sox have a slightly higher projected run total than the A’s according to Vegas, but those are the top two teams in that regard tonight. Of the two, we’re leaning a but more toward the A’s because the Sox are facing a left-handed starter and have been below average against lefties this season.

The A’s will be in Detroit tonight with Mike Fiers taking the mound for the Tigers. Fiers has a 4.55 xFIP in his last five starts and has been the recent recipient of some strand rate luck that’s due for regression.

The A’s have four hitters who have been at least 25 percent better than average against right-handed pitching this season: Jed Lowrie , Khris Davis , Matt Olson and Stephen Piscotty . The last two times the A’s have faced a right-handed starter, those four have hit 3-6 in the order, which makes them very stackable. That’s another advantage they have on the Sox as far as stacking goes as Boston’s best hitters against lefties are more spread out in the lineup. Jonathan Lucroy is also an option to tack on to that stack since he plays a non-premium position and is slightly better than average against righties.

Texas Rangers

This is a ball park call as the 100-degree temperature in Texas make conditions extremely hitter-friendly. Vegas is aware of the friendly conditions as the Rangers have the third highest projected run total tonight. They’ll be facing the Padres with left-hander Clayton Richard on the mound.

Adrián Béltre has easily been Texas’ best hitter against lefties dating back to last season, so any Rangers stack should be built around him. Jurickson Profar and Elvis Andrus are also above average against lefties and shouldn’t hit more than a batter removed from Beltre in the lineup. Robinson Chirinos and Delino DeShields would be good options if they happen to hit in the top two thirds of the order, though they typically hit in the bottom third.

Not the Chalk

Detroit Tigers

How about a game stack in Detroit? The A’s will be sending right-hander Chris Bassitt to the hill, and Bassitt ranks dead last in soft contact rate generated among today’s starting pitchers. He also has a strikeout rate of only 17.8 percent, which means he gets hit a lot in addition to getting hit hard.

Detroit has four hitters who have been above average against right-handed pitching this season: Leonys Martín , Nick Castellanos, Jeimer Candelario and Niko Goodrum . Those four have hit 1-2-3-5 in the order in four of Detroit’s last five games against right-handed pitching, so it’s a very connected stack. The Tigers only have the ninth highest projected total this evening, so they should be a good contrarian stack.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have been the third best offense in the league over the last 30 days with a wRC+ of 199 in that stretch, but they only have the 15th highest projected run total tonight. They’ll be facing Kyle Hendricks who might sound like a bad matchup but who has an ERA and xFIP that are both over 5.00 in his last five starts.

LA has five guys who have been at least 15 percent better than league average against right-handed pitching this season. Joc Pederson leads the way with a 164 wRC+ vs. RHP followed by Cody Bellinger , Matt Kemp , Yasmani Grandal and Chris Taylor , though Taylor is DTD right now. Check their lineup card this evening and see if some of those guys are strung together in the lineup.
